10178 - It was read to Bahr ibn Nasr al-Khawlani, Asad ibn Musa told us, Yusuf ibn Ziyad told us, from Abu Ilyas (the son of the daughter of Wahb ibn Munabbih), from Wahb ibn Munabbih, he said: Allah created the Throne from His light, and he mentioned the hadith.

His saying, the Almighty: "The Great."

10179 - Al-'Abbas ibn al-Walid ibn Mazid informed us, by way of reading, Muhammad ibn Shu'ayb ibn Shabur informed us, he said: 'Umar ibn al-Nasri informed me, he said: In the book of what the Prophet Harun (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) prophesied, it is stated that this sea of ours is an inlet of Nantas, and Nantas is behind it, and it encompasses the earth. Thus, the earth and what is in it of seas, relative to Nantas, are like a ring on the edge of the sea. Behind Nantas is the 'Ayn (Spring), which encompasses the earth; thus Nantas and all beneath it, relative to it, are like a ring on the edge of the sea. Behind the 'Ayn is the Asamm (The Deaf), which encompasses the earth; thus the 'Ayn and all beneath it, relative to it, are like a ring on the edge of the sea. Behind the Asamm is the Muzlim (The Dark), which encompasses the earth; thus the Asamm and all beneath it, relative to it, are like a ring on the edge of the sea. Behind the Muzlim is a mountain of diamond that encompasses the earth; thus the Muzlim and all beneath it, relative to it, are like a ring on the edge of the sea. Behind the diamond is the Baki (The Weeping), which is fresh water that encompasses the earth; Allah commanded half of it to be under the Throne, then He wished to gather it, but it resisted Him, so it is weeping and seeking forgiveness from Allah. Thus, the diamond and all beneath it, relative to it, are like a ring on the edge of the sea. The Throne is behind all of that, encompassing the earth; thus the Baki and all beneath it, relative to it, are like a ring on the edge of the sea.

10180 - Abu Zur'ah told us, Musaddad ibn Musarhad told us, Mu'tamir told us, from his father, he said: A companion of mine told me: What the Fustat (tent/camp) occupies of the entire earth.

10181 - Al-'Ala' ibn Salim al-Baghdadi told us, Waki' told us, Sufyan al-Thawri told us, from 'Ammar al-Duhni, from Muslim al-Batin, from Sa'id ibn Jubayr, from Ibn 'Abbas, he said: No one can estimate the greatness of the Throne.

10182 - My father told us, 'Abd Allah ibn Muhammad ibn 'Abd al-Rahman ibn al-Miswar al-Zuhri told us, Malik ibn Sa'id told us, al-A'mash told us, from Ka'b, he said: The heavens in the Throne are like a lamp suspended between the sky and the earth.

10183 - My father told us, Ibn al-Tabba' told us, Mu'tamir told us, from Layth, from Mujahid, he said: The heavens and the earth, relative to the Throne, are only like a ring in a vast desert.
