His saying: "Exalted is He and high above what they associate with Him"

10282 - Al-Hasan ibn Abi al-Rabi' told us, 'Abd al-Razzaq informed us, Ibn 'Uyaynah informed us, who said: I heard Sadaqah narrating from al-Suddi regarding "High above what they associate with Him," he says: High above what the polytheists associated with Him.

10283 - Al-Husayn ibn al-Hasan told us, Ibrahim ibn 'Abd Allah al-Harawi told us, Hajjaj told us, from Ibn Jurayj, from Mujahid regarding "High above what they associate with Him," he said: It is al-inkifaf (the restraint), He restrained Himself, meaning: He glorified Himself, and the angels restrained Him, and what He glorified Him for.

10284 - 'Ali ibn al-Husayn told us, Muhammad ibn Abi Hammad told us, Mihran told us, from Sufyan, from al-Suddi, from Abu Malik: "High above what they associate with Him," he said: This is for the people of Muhammad, may Allah bless him and grant him peace.

His saying, the Exalted: "And mankind was not but one nation"

10285 - Muhammad ibn 'Abd al-Rahman told us, Abu Dawud al-Hafari told us, from Sufyan, from Ibn Abi Najih, from Mujahid, "Mankind was one nation," he said: Adam. And it was narrated from al-Thawri something similar.

The discussion regarding the 'nation' (ummah) has already preceded in Surah al-Baqarah.
