10312 - My father told us, Salman ibn Harb told us, Hammad ibn Zayd told us, from 'Abd al-Jalil, from Shahr ibn Hawshab, that Abu Hurayrah said: No rain ever falls except by a measure.

10313 - My father told us, Mahmud ibn Ghaylan told us, 'Ali ibn al-Husayn ibn Shaqiq told us, al-Husayn ibn Waqid told us, 'Alya' ibn Ahmad told us, from 'Ikrimah, he said: Allah sends down water from the seventh heaven, and a single drop of it upon a cloud is as large as a camel.

His saying, the Exalted: "And by it the vegetation of the earth mingles."

10314 - al-'Abbas ibn al-Walid ibn Yazid al-Bayruti informed me by way of reading, Muhammad ibn Shu'ayb informed me, 'Uthman ibn 'Ata' informed me, from his father, he said: As for "mingles by it the vegetation of the earth," it mingled, and vegetation of every color grew by the water.

His saying, the Exalted: "Of which men and livestock eat."

10315 - Abu Zur'ah told us, 'Amr ibn Hammad told us, Asbat told us, from al-Suddi regarding: "and livestock," he said: The livestock are the grazing ones.

His saying, the Exalted: "Until, when the earth has taken on its adornment."

10316 - Abu Sa'id al-Ashajj told us, Ahmad ibn Bashir told us, Shu'bah told us, from al-Hakam, from Mujahid, he said: I did not know what al-zukhruf (adornment) was until I read the recitation of 'Abd Allah: "or you have a house of gold."

His saying, the Exalted: "and has beautified itself."

10317 - My father told us, Muhammad ibn 'Abd al-A'la al-San'ani told us, Muhammad ibn Thawr told us, from Ma'mar, from Qatadah regarding: "and has beautified itself," he said: It grew and became beautiful.

His saying, the Exalted: "and its people have thought that they are capable of it."

10318 - My father told us, Hisham ibn Khalid told us, Shu'ayb ibn Ishaq told us, Ibn Abi 'Arubah told us, from Qatadah regarding: "and its people have thought that they are capable of it, there comes to it Our command, by night or by day." He said: By Allah, for the one who clings to the world and is eager for it, the world is soon to cast him aside—if anything is missing from it—and he shall part from it, for it has delighted him while he was devoted to it.
