[The second interpretation]
10383 - My father told us, Muhammad ibn 'Abd al-A'la told us, Muhammad ibn Thawr told us, from Ma'mar, from al-Hasan, regarding: "So how are you deluded (tufakun)," he said: "So how are you diverted (tusrafun)."
His saying, the Exalted: "Say, 'Is there of your partners one who guides to the truth?'" [the verse].
10384 - Hajjaj ibn Hamzah told us, Shababah told us, Warqa' told us, from Ibn Abi Najih, from Mujahid, regarding his saying: "Is then He who guides to the truth more worthy to be followed or he who does not guide [himself] unless he is guided?" [The idols] - Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, guides from them and from others what He wills.
His saying, the Exalted: "What is [the matter] with you? How do you judge?"

10385 - Abu Zur'ah told us, Yahya ibn 'Abd Allah ibn Bukayr told us, 'Abd Allah ibn Lahi'ah told me, 'Ata' ibn Dinar told me, from Sa'id ibn Jubayr, regarding His saying: "[He is] All-Knowing," he means: Knowing of them.
10386 - Muhammad ibn al-'Abbas told us, Zunayj told us, Salamah told us, Muhammad told us, regarding His saying: "All-Knowing," meaning: Knowing of what they conceal.
His saying, the Exalted: "And it was not [possible for] this Qur'an to be produced by other than Allah" [the verse].
10387 - Muhammad ibn Sa'id informed us in what he wrote to me, my father told me, my paternal uncle told us, from his father, from his grandfather, from Ibn 'Abbas, regarding his saying: "Before it" (bayna yadayhi), he said: "It is this Qur'an, a witness over the Torah and the Gospel, confirming them."
His saying, the Exalted: "[it is] an explanation of the Book, about which there is no doubt."
10388 - My father told us, Abu al-Yaman al-Hakam ibn Nafi' told us, Jarir ibn 'Uthman told us, from 'Abd al-Rahman ibn Abi 'Awf, from 'Abd al-Rahman ibn Mas'ud al-Fazari, from Abu al-Darda', [regarding] "the doubt" (al-rayb), he means: the skepticism that comes from disbelief.
Abu Muhammad said: I do not know of any disagreement on this point among the exegetes, including Ibn 'Abbas, Sa'id ibn Jubayr, Abu Malik, Nafi', the freed slave of Ibn 'Umar, 'Ata' ibn Abi Rabah, Abu al-'Aliyah, al-Rabi', Qatadah, Muqatil ibn Hayyan, al-Suddi, and Isma'il ibn Abi Khalid.

١٠٣٨٣ - حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الأَعْلَى، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ ثَوْرٍ، عَنْ مَعْمَرٍ عَنْ الْحَسَنِ فَأَنَّى تُؤْفَكُونَ قَالَ: فَأَنَّى تُصْرَفُونَ.
قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى: قُلْ هَلْ مِنْ شُرَكَائِكُمْ من يهدي إلى الحق الآيَةَ
١٠٣٨٤ - حَدَّثَنَا حَجَّاجُ بْنُ حَمْزَةَ، ثنا شَبَابَةُ، ثنا وَرْقَاءُ، عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي نَجِيحٍ، عَنْ مُجَاهِدٍ فِي قَوْلِهِ: أَفَمَنْ يَهْدِي إِلَى الْحَقِّ أَحَقُّ أَنْ يُتَّبَعَ أَمَّنْ لَا يَهِدِّي إِلا أَنْ يُهْدَى الأَوْثَانُ- اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ يَهْدِي مِنْهَا وَمِنْ غَيْرِهَا مَا شَاءَ.
قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى: فَمَا لَكُمْ كيف تحكمون
بَيَاضٌ «١»
قَوْلُهُ: وَمَا يَتَّبِعُ أَكْثَرُهُمْ إِلا ظَنًّا الآيَةَ.
١٠٣٨٥ - حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو زُرْعَةَ، ثنا يَحْيَى بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ بُكَيْرٍ، حَدَّثَنِي عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ لَهِيعَةَ حَدَّثَنِي عَطَاءُ بْنُ دِينَارٍ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ فِي قَوْلِهِ: عَلِيمٌ يَعْنِي عَالِمٌ بِهَا.
١٠٣٨٦ - حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْعَبَّاسِ، ثنا زُنَيْجٌ، ثنا سَلَمَةُ، ثنا مُحَمَّدٌ فِي قَوْلُهُ:
عَلِيمٌ أَيْ: عَلِيمٌ بِمَا يُخْفُونَ.
قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى: وَمَا كَانَ هَذَا الْقُرْآنُ أَنْ يُفْتَرى مِنْ دُونِ الله الآية
١٠٣٨٧ - أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ فِيمَا كَتَبَ إِلَيَّ، حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي، ثنا عَمِّي، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ جَدِّهِ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَوْلُهُ: بَيْنَ يَدَيْهِ قَالَ: هُوَ هَذَا الْقُرْآنَ شَاهِدًا عَلَى التَّوْرَاةِ وَالإِنْجِيلِ مُصَدِّقًا بِهِمَا.
قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى: تَفْصِيلَ الْكِتَابِ لا رَيْبَ فِيهِ
١٠٣٨٨ - حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي، ثنا أَبُو الْيَمَانِ الْحَكَمُ بْنُ نَافِعٍ، ثنا جَرِيرُ بْنُ عُثْمَانَ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ أَبِي عَوْفٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ مَسْعُودٍ الْفَزَارِيِّ، عَنْ أَبِي الدَّرْدَاءِ الرَّيْبُ يَعْنِي: الشَّكَّ مِنَ الْكُفْرِ
قَالَ أَبُو مُحَمَّدٍ وَلا أَعْلَمُ فِي هَذَا الْحَرْفِ اخْتِلافًا بَيْنَ الْمُفَسِّرِينَ مِنْهُمُ ابْنُ عَبَّاسٍ وَسَعِيدُ بْنُ جُبَيْرٍ وَأَبُو مَالِكٍ وَنَافِعٌ ثنا ابْنِ عُمَرَ وَعَطَاءُ بْنُ أَبِي رَبَاحٍ وَأَبُو الْعَالِيَةِ وَالرَّبِيعُ وَقَتَادَةُ وَمُقَاتِلُ بْنُ حَيَّانَ وَالسُّدِّيُّ وَإِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ أَبِي خالد.
