[His saying: From the Lord of the worlds]

The interpretation of "Lord of the worlds" has already been provided.

His saying, the Exalted: "Or do they say, 'He invented it?'"

10389 - My father told us, 'Ali ibn Rustum told us, Muhammad ibn al-Hasan al-San'ani told us, Mundhir ibn al-Nu'man al-Aftas told us, from Wahb ibn Munabbih, who said: "Lying is the falsehood (firya), and the pinnacle of falsehood is lying against Allah. Then it is whatever falls between that until he reaches... [a] lie, and whatever is between disbelief in Allah is disbelief; he arrives at the denial of favors."

His saying, the Exalted: "Then bring a surah like it."

10390 - Al-Hasan ibn Muhammad ibn al-Sabbah told us, Shababah told us, Warqa' told us, from Ibn Abi Najih, from Mujahid: "Then bring a surah like it," he said: "Like this Qur'an."

10391 - Abu Zur'ah told us, al-'Abbas ibn al-Walid al-Narsi told us, Yazid ibn Zuray', told us, Sufyan told us, from Qatadah, regarding His saying: "Then bring a surah like it," he said: "Like this Qur'an in truth and certainty, containing no falsehood or lies."

His saying, the Exalted: "And call upon whomever you can besides Allah, if you should be truthful."

10392 - Muhammad ibn Yahya told us, Abu Ghassan told us, Salamah ibn al-Fadl told us, from Muhammad ibn Ishaq, in what Muhammad ibn Abi Muhammad told me, from 'Ikrimah, or Sa'id ibn Jubayr, from Ibn 'Abbas: "And call upon whomever you can" [means] of your assistants in what you are upon, "if you should be truthful."

10393 - Al-Hasan ibn Muhammad ibn al-Sabbah told us, Shababah told us, Warqa' told us, from Ibn Abi Najih, from Mujahid: "And call upon" - he said: "People who will testify to it."

His saying, the Mighty and Majestic: "Rather, they have denied that which they encompass not in knowledge and whose interpretation has not yet come to them."

10394 - Muhammad ibn Sa'd informed us in what he wrote to me, my father told me, my paternal uncle al-Husayn told us, my father told me, from his father, from his grandfather, from Ibn 'Abbas regarding His saying: "the wrongdoers" - Allah declared them to be wrongdoers by their polytheism (shirk).
