Translation · EN

'Umar, from al-Hasan, regarding: "They will recognize one another," he said: "A man will recognize his companion next to him, but will not speak to him." Meaning: on the Day of Resurrection.

His saying, the Exalted: "Those who deny the meeting with Allah have certainly lost."

10402 - My father told us, Abu Bakr ibn Bashshar al-'Abdi told us, Yahya ibn Sa'id told us, from Sufyan, from al-A'mash, from Abu Razin, regarding His saying: "Those who deny the meeting with Allah have certainly lost," he said: "They have certainly gone astray before that."

His saying, the Exalted: "And whether We show you some of what We promise them [as punishment in your lifetime]."

10403 - Hajjaj ibn Hamzah told us, Shababah told us, Warqa' told us, from Ibn Abi Najih, from Mujahid, regarding His saying: "And whether We show you some of what We promise them": from the punishment during your lifetime.

His saying, the Exalted: "Or We take you in death."

10404 - And by the same chain from Mujahid: "And for every nation is a messenger; so when their messenger comes [on the Day of Resurrection]."

His saying, the Exalted: "It will be judged between them in justice, and they will not be wronged."

10405 - 'Ali ibn al-Husayn told us, 'Amr ibn 'Ali told us, Abu 'Asim told us, from 'Isa, from Ibn Abi Najih, from Mujahid: "In justice" (al-qist) means: justice ('adl). It has been narrated from al-Suddi something similar to this.

His saying, the Exalted: "And they say, 'When is this promise, if you should be truthful?'"

10406 - My father told us, Hisham ibn Khalid told us, Shu'ayb ibn Ishaq told us, Sa'id ibn Abi 'Arubah told us, from Qatadah, regarding His saying: "And they say, 'When is this promise, if you should be truthful?'" He said: The companions of the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, used to say: "Indeed, there is a day for us when we will soon rest and find bliss." So the polytheists said: "When is this promise, if you should be truthful?" Meaning: as a denial.

His saying, the Exalted: "Say, 'I possess not for myself any harm or benefit,'" [until the end of the] verse.

10407 - My father told us, Abu Hudhayfah told us, Shibl told us, from Ibn Abi Najih, from Mujahid, who said: "I possess not for myself any harm or benefit" [beyond] error, except what Allah wills.

His saying, the Exalted: "For every nation is a specified term. When their time comes..." [until the end of the] verse.

10408 - 'Abd Allah ibn Isma'il al-Baghdadi told us, 'Uthman told us, Wuhayb told us, Sa'id told us.
