[His saying, the Almighty: "And make your houses a Qibla (direction for prayer)"]
[The First View]
10529 - Ahmad ibn Sinan told us, 'Abd al-Rahman ibn Mahdi told us, Sufyan told us, from Khusayf, from 'Ikrimah, from Ibn 'Abbas regarding: "And make your houses a Qibla," he said: Mosques. A similar report was narrated from Mujahid in some narrations, and from al-Rabi' ibn Anas and Zayd ibn Aslam.
10530 - Muhammad ibn 'Abd Allah ibn Yazid al-Muqri told us, Sufyan told us, from Mansur, from Ibrahim, regarding His saying: "And make your houses a Qibla," he said: They were fearful, so they were commanded to pray in their houses.
10531 - My father told us, Ibn Abi 'Umar told us, Sufyan told us, from Ibn Abi Najih, from Mujahid, regarding His saying: "And make your houses a Qibla," he said: They would not pray except in the house when they feared the people of Pharaoh, so they were commanded to pray in their houses. Sufyan said: They were given what the Prophet (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) was given, as they were refused the earth being made a mosque and a means of purification for them. A similar report was narrated from Abu Malik and Qatadah.

10532 - My father told us, Sahl ibn 'Uthman told us, 'Ali ibn 'Amir told us, from 'Ata' ibn al-Sa'ib, from Sa'id ibn Jubayr, from Ibn 'Abbas, regarding His saying: "And make your houses a Qibla," he said: Facing one another.
[The Third View]
10533 - My father told us, 'Abd Allah ibn Ja'far al-Duqi told us, Ibn al-Mubarak told us, from Ibn Abi Layla, from al-Minhal ibn 'Amr, from Sa'id ibn Jubayr, from Ibn 'Abbas, regarding His saying: "And make your houses a Qibla," he said: Towards the Ka'bah. A similar report was narrated from Mujahid and al-Dahhak.
His saying, the Almighty: "And establish prayer."
10534 - 'Isam ibn Rawwad told us, Adam told us, Mubarak ibn Fadalah told us, from al-Hasan, regarding His saying: "And establish prayer," he said: A mandatory obligation; deeds are not accepted except by it and by Zakat. A similar report was narrated from 'Ata' and Qatadah.

١٠٥٢٩ - حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ سِنَانٍ، ثنا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ مَهْدِيٍّ، ثنا سُفْيَانُ، عَنْ خُصَيْفٍ، عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ وَاجْعَلُوا بُيُوتَكُمْ قِبْلَةً قَالَ: مَسَاجِدَ- وَرُوِيَ عَنْ مُجَاهِدٍ فِي بَعْضِ الرِّوَايَاتِ وَالرَّبِيعِ بْنِ أَنَسٍ وَزَيْدِ بْنِ أَسْلَمَ نَحْوُ ذَلِكَ.
١٠٥٣٠ - حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ يَزِيدَ المقري، ثنا سُفْيَانُ عَنْ مَنْصُورٍ عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ قَوْلُهُ: وَاجْعَلُوا بُيُوتَكُمْ قِبْلَةً قَالَ: كَانُوا خَائِفِينَ فَأُمِرُوا أَنْ يُصَلُّوا فِي بُيُوتِهِمْ.
١٠٥٣١ - حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي، ثنا ابْنُ أَبِي عُمَرَ، ثنا سُفْيَانُ، عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي نَجِيحٍ، عَنْ مُجَاهِدٍ فِي قَوْلِهِ: وَاجْعَلُوا بُيُوتَكُمْ قِبْلَةً قَالَ: كَانُوا لَا يُصَلُّونَ إِلا فِي الْبَيْتِ حِينَ خَافُوا مِنْ آلِ فِرْعَوْنَ فَأُمِرُوا أَنْ يُصَلُّوا فِي بُيُوتَهُمْ
قَالَ سُفْيَانُ: أُعْطُوا مَا أُعْطِيَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَأَبَوْا أَنْ تُجْعَلَ لَهُمُ الأَرْضُ مَسْجِدًا وَطُهُورًا وَرُوِيَ عَنْ أَبِي مَالِكٍ وَقَتَادَةَ نَحْوُ ذَلِكَ.
وَالْوَجْهُ الثَّانِي:
١٠٥٣٢ - حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي، ثنا سَهْلُ بْنُ عُثْمَانَ ثنا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَامِرٍ عَنْ عَطَاءِ بْنِ السَّائِبِ عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ فِي قَوْلِهِ: وَاجْعَلُوا بُيُوتَكُمْ قِبْلَةً قَالَ: مُقَابِلَ بَعْضِهَا بَعْضًا.
وَالْوَجْهُ الثَّالِثُ:
١٠٥٣٣ - حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي، ثنا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ الدقي، ثنا ابْنُ الْمُبَارَكِ، عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي لَيْلَى، عَنِ الْمِنْهَالِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ فِي قَوْلِهِ: وَاجْعَلُوا بُيُوتَكُمْ قِبْلَةً قَالَ: إِلَى الْكَعْبَةِ وَرُوِيَ عَنْ مُجَاهِدٍ وَالضَّحَّاكِ، نَحْوُهُ.
قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى: وَأَقِيمُوا الصَّلاةَ
١٠٥٣٤ - حَدَّثَنَا عِصَامُ بْنُ رَوَّادٍ، ثنا آدَمُ، ثنا مُبَارَكُ بْنُ فَضَالَةَ، عَنِ الْحَسَنِ فِي قَوْلِهِ: وَأَقِيمُوا الصَّلاةَ قَالَ: فَرِيضَةٌ وَاجِبَةٌ لَا تَنْفَعُ الأَعْمَالُ إِلا بِهَا وَبِالزَّكَاةِ، وَرُوِيَ عَنْ عَطَاءٍ وَقَتَادَةَ نَحْوُ ذَلِكَ.
