10570 - Abu Sa'id al-Ashajj told us, 'Amr al-'Anqazi told us, from Abu Bakr al-Hudhali, from al-Hasan, regarding: "So today We shall deliver you with your body"—he said: "Your body, with no soul in it."
It was narrated from 'Abd Allah ibn Shaddad that he said: "Meaning, whole and intact, with nothing of you lost."
[The Second Aspect]
10571 - 'Ali ibn al-Hasan al-Hisinjani told us, Sa'id ibn Abi Maryam told us, Mufaddal ibn Fadalah told us; Abu Sakhr told me regarding Allah's saying: "So today We shall deliver you with your body"—he said: "The badan (body) is the new coat of mail."
10572 - My father told us, he said: It was mentioned to me from Nazzal ibn al-Muhabbar, Mufaddal ibn Abi Musa ibn Salim told us, from his father, regarding Allah's saying: "So today We shall deliver you with your body"—he said: "A thing that Pharaoh used to wear, called: al-badan."
His saying, the Almighty: "That you may be a sign to those who come after you"
10573 - My father, Muhammad ibn 'Imran ibn Abi Layla told us, Bishr ibn 'Umarah told us, from Abu Rawq, from al-Dahhak, from Ibn 'Abbas, regarding His saying: "That you may be a sign to those who come after you"—for those who said that Pharaoh did not drown. His deliverance was a lesson; it was not a deliverance of wellness. Then He revealed to the sea: "Cast out what is in you." So it cast them out onto the dry land until those who said that Pharaoh and his companions did not drown saw them. For the sea would not cast out a drowned person that remained in its belly until the fish ate him; the sea would not accept a drowned person until the Day of Resurrection.
10574 - My father told us, Muhammad ibn 'Abd al-A'la told us, Muhammad ibn Thawr told us, from Ma'mar, from Qatadah: "That you may be a sign to those who come after you"—he said: "When Allah drowned Pharaoh, a group of people did not believe in that, so Allah the Almighty brought forth a sign and an admonition."
10575 - Abu Zur'ah told us, 'Umar ibn Hammad ibn Talhah told us, Asbat told us, from al-Suddi, regarding His saying: "That you may be a sign to those who come after you"—meaning: a sign for the Children of Israel.
10576 - My father told us, 'Abd Allah ibn Sa'd (the nephew of Ya'qub ibn Ibrahim ibn Sa'd) told us, my uncle told us, from my father, from Muhammad ibn Ishaq, from Muhammad ibn Ka'b, from 'Abd Allah ibn Shaddad: "That you may be a sign to those who come after you"—meaning: an admonition and a clear proof that you were not as you claimed to be about yourself.
