10583 - 'Ali ibn al-Husayn told us, Muhammad ibn al-'Ala' told us, Sa'id ibn Shurahbil told us, Hushaym told us from Abu Bishr, from Sa'id ibn Jubayr, from Ibn 'Abbas, regarding His saying: "So if you are in doubt, about that which We have revealed to you"—he said: "The Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) did not doubt, and he did not ask."
His saying: "Then ask those who have been reading the Scripture before you."
10584 - My father told us, 'Abd al-'Aziz ibn Munib told us, Abu Mu'adh al-Nahwi told us, 'Ubayd ibn Sulayman told us, from al-Dahhak, regarding His saying: "Then ask those who have been reading the Scripture before you"—meaning: the people of piety and the people of faith among those who lived at the time of the Prophet (may Allah bless him and grant him peace).
10585 - Abu Yazid al-Qaratisi informed us in what he wrote to me, Asbagh ibn al-Faraj told us, he said: I heard 'Abd al-Rahman ibn Zayd ibn Aslam regarding the saying of Allah: "So if you are in doubt, about that which We have revealed to you, then ask those who have been reading the Scripture before you"—he said: "He is 'Abd Allah ibn Salam (may Allah be pleased with him); he was one of the People of the Scripture and he believed in the Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace)."
His saying, the Almighty: "The truth has come to you from your Lord, so do not be among the doubters."
10586 - My father told us, Muhammad ibn Khalaf told us, Adam told us, Abu Ja'far told us, from al-Rabi', from Abu al-'Aliyah, who said: Allah the Almighty said to His Prophet (may Allah bless him and grant him peace): "The truth from your Lord, so do not be among the doubters"—He says: "So do not be in doubt regarding that."
His saying, the Almighty: "And do not be among those who denied the signs of Allah"—the verse.
10587 - Ahmad ibn 'Uthman ibn Hakim informed me in what he wrote to me, Ahmad ibn al-Mufaddal told us, Asbat told us, from al-Suddi, regarding His saying: "the signs of Allah"—namely, the signs of Muhammad (may Allah bless him and grant him peace).
His saying, the Almighty: "Indeed, those upon whom the word of your Lord has come into effect will not believe."
10588 - Abu Zur'ah told us, Minjab ibn al-Harith told us, Bishr ibn 'Umarah told us, from Abu Rawq, from al-Dahhak, from Ibn 'Abbas, regarding His saying: "upon whom the word of your Lord has come into effect"—he says: "The word of your Lord has preceded."
10589 - My father told us, Muhammad ibn 'Abd al-A'la told us, Muhammad ibn Thawr told us, from Ma'mar, from Qatadah: "Indeed, those upon whom the word of your Lord has come into effect will not believe"—the wrath of Allah has come into effect upon them because they disobeyed Him.
