His saying, the Almighty: "And if they turn away"
10649 - My father told us, Abu Salih told us, Mu'awiyah ibn Salih told us, from 'Ali ibn Abi Talhah, from Ibn 'Abbas: "And if they turn away" means: the disbelievers from the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him; and this is regarding the believers.
His saying, the Almighty: "Indeed, I fear for you the punishment of a great day"
10650 - Abu Zur'ah told us, Minjab ibn al-Harith told us, Bishr ibn 'Umarah told us, from Abu Rawq, from al-Dahhak, from Ibn 'Abbas regarding His saying: "Punishment," he says: "Retribution."
His saying, the Almighty: "To Allah is your return"
10651 - Abu Sa'id al-Ashajj told us, Zayd ibn al-Hubab told us, from Abu Sinan, from al-Dahhak regarding His saying: "To Allah is your return," he said: "The righteous and the wicked."
10652 - 'Isam ibn Rawwad told us, Adam told us, Abu Ja'far told us, from al-Rabi', from Abu al-'Aliyah regarding His saying: "To Allah is your return," he said: "They return to Him after life."
His saying, the Almighty: "And He is over all things competent"
10653 - Muhammad ibn al-'Abbas told us, Muhammad ibn 'Amr Zunayj told us, Salamah told us, he said: Muhammad ibn Ishaq said: "And He is over all things competent," meaning: "Indeed, Allah is competent over everything He wills for His servants, whether it be punishment or forgiveness."
His saying, the Almighty: "Unquestionably, they fold up their breasts"

10654 - My father told us, Ibn Abi Surayj told us, Abu Usamah told us, from Ibn Jurayj, from Muhammad ibn 'Abbad, he said: I heard Ibn 'Abbas say: "Unquestionably, they fold up their breasts," he said: "They used to not approach women nor go to relieve themselves [while] they were exposed to the sky, covering themselves; so this verse was revealed."
10655 - My father told us, Abu Salih told us, Mu'awiyah ibn Salih told me, from 'Ali ibn Abi Talhah, from Ibn 'Abbas regarding His saying: "Unquestionably, they fold up their breasts," he says: "They conceal."
10656 - Muhammad ibn Sa'd informed us in what he wrote to me, my father told me, my paternal uncle told us, my father told us, from his father, from Ibn 'Abbas regarding His saying: "Unquestionably, they fold up their breasts," he says: "They hide what is in their hearts."
قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى: وَإِنْ تَوَلَّوْا
١٠٦٤٩ - حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي، ثنا أَبُو صَالِحٍ، حَدَّثَنَا مُعَاوِيَةُ بْنُ صَالِحٍ، عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ أَبِي طَلْحَةَ، عن ابن عباس وَإِنْ تَوَلَّوْا يَعْنِي: الْكُفَّارَ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَهَذِهِ فِي الْمُؤْمِنِينَ.
قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى: فَإِنِّي أَخَافُ عَلَيْكُمْ عَذَابَ يَوْمٍ كَبِيرٍ
١٠٦٥٠ - حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو زُرْعَةَ، ثنا مِنْجَابُ بْنُ الْحَارِثِ، ثنا بِشْرُ بْنُ عُمَارَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي رَوْقٍ، عَنِ الضَّحَّاكِ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، فِي قَوْلِهِ: عَذَابَ يَقُولُ: نَكَالٌ.
قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى: إِلَى اللَّهِ مَرْجِعُكُمْ
١٠٦٥١ - حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو سَعِيدٍ الأَشَجُّ، ثنا زَيْدُ بْنُ الْحُبَابِ، عَنْ أَبِي سِنَانٍ، عَنِ الضَّحَّاكِ فِي قَوْلِهِ: إِلَى اللَّهِ مَرْجِعُكُمْ قَالَ: الْبَرُّ وَالْفَاجِرُ.
١٠٦٥٢ - حَدَّثَنَا عِصَامُ بْنُ رَوَّادٍ، ثنا آدَمُ، ثنا أَبُو جَعْفَرٍ، عَنِ الرَّبِيعِ، عَنْ أَبِي الْعَالِيَةِ يَعْنِي قَوْلَهُ: إِلَى اللَّهِ مَرْجِعُكُمْ قَالَ: يَرْجِعُونَ إِلَيْهِ بَعْدَ الْحَيَاةِ.
قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى: وَهُوَ عَلَى كُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَدِيرٌ
١٠٦٥٣ - حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْعَبَّاسِ، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو زُنَيْجٌ، ثنا سَلَمَةُ قَالَ: قَالَ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ: وَهُوَ عَلَى كُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَدِيرٌ أَيْ: إِنَّ اللَّهَ عَلَى كُلِّ مَا أَرَادَ بِعِبَادِهِ مِنْ نِقْمَةٍ أَوْ عَفْوٍ قَدِيرٌ.
قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى: أَلا إِنَّهُمْ يثنون صدورهم

١٠٦٥٤ - حدثنا أبي، ثنا ابن أبي سريح، ثنا أَبُو أُسَامَةَ، عَنِ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَبَّادٍ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ ابْنَ عَبَّاسٍ يَقُولُ: أَلا إِنَّهُمْ يَثْنُونَ صُدُورَهُمْ قَالَ: كَانُوا لَا يَأْتُونَ النِّسَاءَ وَلا الْغَائِطَ. وَهُمْ يُفِضُونَ إِلَى السَّمَاءِ يَتَغَشَوْنَ فِيمَا فَنَزَلَتْ هَذِهِ الآيَةُ.
١٠٦٥٥ - حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي، ثَنَا أَبُو صَالِحٍ، حَدَّثَنِي مُعَاوِيَةُ بْنُ صَالِحٍ، عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ أَبِي طَلْحَةَ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، قَوْلُهُ: أَلا إِنَّهُمْ يَثْنُونَ صُدُورَهُمْ يَقُولُ: يُكِنُّونَ.
