for them their deeds therein, and they therein will not be deprived.

This refers to the world; Allah gives them [a share] of the world for their good deeds, and that is because they are not wronged in the slightest. He says: Whoever does a good deed seeking the world, such as fasting, prayer, or performing night prayers (tahajjud), and does not do it except to seek the world.

10740 - My father told us, ‘Abd al-‘Aziz ibn Munib told us, Abu Mu‘adh al-Nahwi told us, ‘Ubayd ibn Sulayman told us, from al-Dahhak regarding His saying: "Whoever desires the life of this world and its adornments, We will fully repay them for their deeds therein, and they therein will not be deprived," he says: Whoever does a good deed intending by it the Countenance of Allah but without piety (taqwa)—meaning the polytheists—is given a reward for that in this world. He upholds kinship ties, gives to the beggar, and shows mercy to the distressed; in such good deeds, Allah hastens for him the reward of his work in this world.

10741 - ‘Ali ibn al-Husayn told us, Muhammad ibn Yasar told us, Muhammad ibn Ja‘far told us, Shu‘bah told us, from Ibn Raja’, from al-Hasan, regarding "Whoever desires the life of this world," he said: Whoever desires that his good deeds be hastened for him.

10742 - Abu Sa‘id al-Ashajj told us, Isma‘il ibn ‘Ulayyah told us, from Abu Raja’, from al-Hasan, regarding "Whoever desires the life of this world and its adornments," he said: Their good things.

His saying, the Exalted: "We will fully repay them for their deeds therein."

10743 - Muhammad ibn Sa‘d informed me in what he wrote to me, my father told us, ‘Ammi told us, my father told us, from his father, from Ibn ‘Abbas: "We will fully repay them for their deeds therein," Allah the Exalted says: And in it is what he sought in the world by way of compensation.

10744 - Abu Sa‘id al-Ashajj told us, Yahya ibn Yaman told us, from Sufyan, from ‘Isa al-Harashi, from Mujahid, regarding His saying: "Whoever desires the life of this world and its adornments, We will fully repay them for their deeds therein," he said: We hasten [the reward] for those whose [deeds] are not accepted.

10745 - My father told us, ‘Abd al-‘Aziz ibn Munib told us, Abu Mu‘adh al-Nahwi told us, ‘Ubayd ibn Sulayman told us, from al-Dahhak regarding "We will fully repay them for their deeds therein," he says: Allah hastens for him the reward of his work in this world; He expands his livelihood and sustenance, gladdens his eyes regarding those around him, and repels from him the misfortunes of the world in this manner, but he has no share in the Hereafter.
