10752 - Muhammad ibn Sa‘d informed me in what he wrote to me, my father told us, my uncle told us, from his father, from his father, from Ibn ‘Abbas, regarding his saying: "And [it has become] worthless what they produced therein," he says: His work, which he used to perform in pursuit of the world, has become worthless, and he is among the losers in the Hereafter.

10753 - ‘Ali ibn al-Mubarak informed me, with his known chain of narration, from Ibn Jurayj, from Ibn ‘Abbas: "And [it has become] worthless what they produced therein," he says: What they produced in the world has become worthless.

His saying, the Exalted: "And invalid is what they used to do."

10754 - ‘Abd Allah ibn Sulayman ibn al-Ash‘ath told us, al-Husayn ibn ‘Ali told us, ‘Amir ibn al-Furat told us, Asbat told us, from al-Saddi, regarding "And invalid is what they used to do," he said: And it is invalid in the Hereafter; they have no reward for it therein.

And with the chain of Ibn al-Mubarak, from Ibn Jurayj, from Ibn ‘Abbas: "And invalid is what they used to do": In the world.

His saying, the Exalted: "So is he who is on a clear evidence from his Lord?"

[The First Aspect]

10755 - Kathir ibn Shihab told us, Muhammad ibn Sa‘id ibn Sabiq told us, Abu Ja‘far told us, from al-Rabi‘ ibn Anas, from Abu al-‘Aliyah, regarding his saying: "So is he who is on a clear evidence from his Lord?" He said: Muhammad, may Allah bless him and grant him peace. Abu Muhammad said: Something similar was narrated from Ibn ‘Abbas, Muhammad ibn ‘Ali ibn al-Hanafiyyah, Mujahid, Abu Salih, Ibrahim, ‘Ikrimah, al-Dahhak, Qatadah, al-Saddi, Khusayf, and Ibn ‘Uyaynah.

The Second Aspect:

10756 - ‘Ali ibn al-Husayn told us, al-Muqaddami told us, ‘Amir ibn Salih told us, from his father, from al-Hasan, regarding "So is he who is on a clear evidence from his Lord?" He said: The believer is on a clear evidence from his Lord.

The Third Aspect:

10757 - Abu Yazid al-Qaratisi informed me in what he wrote to me, Asbagh ibn al-Faraj said: I heard ‘Abd al-Rahman ibn Zayd ibn Aslam saying regarding the saying of Allah: "So is he who is on a clear evidence from his Lord?" He said: The Qur'an.
