His saying, the Exalted: "So do not be distressed."

10831 - Hajjaj ibn Hamzah told us, Shababah told us, Warqa’ told us, from Ibn Abi Najih, from Mujahid, regarding His saying: "So do not be distressed (la tabta'is)": so do not grieve.

10832 - And with the famous chain of authority of al-‘Awfi and Ibn ‘Abbas regarding His saying: "So do not be distressed" he says: "Do not grieve and do not despair."

His saying, the Exalted: "And construct the ship."

10833 - Muhammad ibn Sa‘d informed us in what he wrote to me, my father told me, my paternal uncle told me, my father told me, from his father, from Ibn ‘Abbas regarding His saying: "And construct the ship under Our eyes and Our inspiration," and that was because he did not know how the construction of the ship was, so Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, revealed to him to construct it like the breast of a bird.

His saying, the Exalted: "the ship (al-fulk)."

10834 - Al-Mundhir ibn Shadhan told us, Ya‘la told us, Isma‘il ibn Abi Khalid told us, from Abu Salih regarding His saying: "the ship," he said: "The ship of Noah."

10835 - ‘Ali ibn al-Husayn told us, ‘Uthman ibn Abi Shaybah told us, Shadhan told us, from Hammad ibn Salamah, from ‘Ali ibn Zayd, from Yusuf ibn Mihran, from Ibn ‘Abbas, he said: "The length of Noah’s ship was four hundred cubits, and its height in the sky was thirty cubits."

10836 - My father told us, Sulayman ibn Harb told us, Jarir ibn Hazim told us, from al-Hasan, he said: "The length of Noah’s ship was six hundred cubits, its height was thirty cubits, and its width was three hundred cubits, and its door was on its side."

10837 - My father told us, Abu Nufayl told us, ‘Attab told us, from Khusayf, that Noah’s ship was made of wood and consisted of three levels, and the length of the ship was three hundred cubits, its width was fifty cubits, and the height of the three levels from bottom to top was thirty cubits, each level of them being ten cubits. It was covered from its top and its bottom, except for a door through which everything entered, then he sealed it.

10838 - My father told us, ‘Abd Allah ibn ‘Umar al-Qaradidi told us, Nuh ibn Qays told us, from Muhammad ibn Sayf Abu Raja’, from al-Hasan, he said: "The length of Noah’s ship was one thousand and one hundred cubits, and its width was six hundred cubits, and it was covered."
