10864 - My father told us, al-Mu'ammal ibn Ihab told us, Zayd ibn Hubab told us, Husayn ibn Waqid told us, from Abu Nahik, from Ibn 'Abbas, he said: "There were eighty men with Noah in the Ark; one of them was Jurhum."

10865 - Muhammad ibn Yahya told us, 'Ali ibn 'Uthman told us, Dawud ibn Abi al-Furat told us, from 'Alba' ibn Ahmar, from 'Ikrimah, from Ibn 'Abbas, he said: "There were eighty men with Noah in the Ark, including their families, and they were in the Ark for one hundred and fifty days."

10866 - Abu 'Abd Allah Muhammad ibn Hammad al-Tihrani told us, Hafs ibn 'Umar told us, from al-Hakam, from 'Ikrimah, regarding His saying: "Load therein of every pair two"—meaning, I created it as male and female—he said: "The male is a pair, and the female is a pair."

10867 - Hajjaj ibn Hamzah told us, Shababah told us, Warqa' told us, from Ibn Abi Najih, from Mujahid, regarding His saying: "Of every pair two"—meaning, a male and a female from every species."

10868 - Hammad ibn al-Hasan ibn 'Anbasah told us, Abu Dawud told us, Mubarak told us, from 'Abd Allah ibn Muslim ibn Yasar, from his father, regarding "Of every pair two," he said: "Noah, peace be upon him, was ordered to load with him two of every pair. An angel was with him, and he began to take them pair by pair. The grapes remained, and Iblis came and said: 'This all belongs to me.' Noah looked at the angel, who said: 'He is your partner, so treat him as a good partner.' He said: 'I have half, and he has half.' Iblis said: 'This all belongs to me.' He looked at the angel, who said: 'He is your partner, so treat him as a good partner.' He said: 'Yes, I shall have one-third, and he shall have two-thirds.' He [the angel] said: 'You have reduced [your claim] while you are accountable, as you will eat it as grapes, eat it as raisins, and drink it as juice for three days.' Muslim said: 'They believed that if one drank it in such a manner, the devil would have no share in it.'"

10869 - Abu Sa'id al-Ashaj told us, from Abu Mu'awiyah, from Ibn Abi Khalid, from Abu 'Ubaydah, he said: "When Noah, peace be upon him, was ordered to load two of every pair with him in the Ark, he was unable to load the lion with him until the fever was cast upon it, so he loaded it and brought it in."

10870 - My father told us, Bishr ibn Adam told us, 'Affan ibn Muslim told us, Mubarak told us, saying: I heard Bakr saying: "When Noah loaded the lion into the Ark, it craved meat, which increased the fear of the people in the Ark. They complained about that to Noah, so he invoked [a curse] against it, and the fever was cast upon it, so it passed by him."
