11068 - 'Ali ibn al-Husayn told us, Ya'qub al-Dawraqi told us, Isma'il ibn 'Ulayyah told us, he said: I heard Ibn Abi Najih say regarding His saying: "they are purer for you," he said: He did not offer them to them for illicit relations (tanah) nor for fornication (sifah).
11069 - Abu Zur'ah told us, Safwan told us, al-Walid told us, Khulayd and Sa'id told us, from Qatadah, from Hudhayfah ibn al-Yaman, he said: He says: "O my people, these are my daughters; they are purer for you," he offered his daughters to them for marriage. And the Prophet of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, wished that he would fulfill the marriage of his daughters.
His saying, the Exalted: "So fear Allah and do not disgrace me concerning my guests."
11070 - Muhammad ibn Hammad al-Tahrani informed us in what he wrote to me, Isma'il ibn 'Abd al-Karim al-San'ani told us, 'Abd al-Samad ibn Ma'qil told me that he heard Wahb ibn Munabbih say: So they (the angels) entered upon Lot. When his wife saw them, their beauty and handsomeness impressed her. She sent word to the people of the town that a group of people had arrived with us the like of which we had never seen for their goodness and beauty. They heard about that and swarmed the house of Lot from every side, scaling the walls against them. Lot met them and said: "O my people, do not disgrace me concerning my guests. I will marry you to my daughters; they are purer for you." They replied: "If we had wanted your daughters, we would have known their place, but we have no need for these people who have arrived with you; leave us to them."
His saying: "Is there not among you a man of right judgment?"
11071 - Abu 'Abd Allah al-Tahrani told us, Hafs ibn 'Umar al-'Adani told us, al-Hakam ibn Aban told us, from 'Ikrimah, from Ibn 'Abbas, regarding Lot's saying to his people: "Is there not among you a man of right judgment?" he says: Is there not among you one who says: There is no god but Allah?
11072 - Sahl ibn Yahya al-'Askari told us, Harun ibn Hatim told us, 'Abd al-Rahman ibn Abi Hammad told us, from Asbat, from al-Suddi, from Abu Malik, "Is there not among you a man of right judgment?" he said: A man who enjoins good and forbids evil.
His saying, the Exalted: "They said: You have already known that we have no right to your daughters."
11073 - Muhammad ibn al-'Abbas, client of the Banu Hashim, told us, 'Abd al-Rahman ibn Salamah told us, Salamah told us, from Ibn Ishaq, "They said: You have already known that we have no right to your daughters," meaning: no claim to be their husbands.
١١٠٦٨ - حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ الْحُسَيْنِ، ثنا يَعْقُوبُ الدَّوْرَقِيُّ، ثنا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ عَلَيْهِ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ ابْنَ أَبِي نَجِيحٍ يَقُولُ فِي قَوْلِهِ: هُنَّ أَطْهَرُ لَكُمْ قَالَ: مَا عَرَضَ عَلَيْهِمْ لَا تَنَاحًا وَلا سِفَاحًا
١١٠٦٩ - حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو زُرْعَةَ، ثنا صَفْوَانُ، ثنا الْوَلِيدُ، ثنا خُلَيْدٌ وَسَعِيدٌ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ، عَنْ حُذَيْفَةَ بْنِ الْيَمَانِ قَالَ: يَقُولُ هَؤُلاءِ بَنَاتِي هُنَّ أَطْهَرُ لَكُمْ عَرَضَ بَنَاتَهُ عَلَيْهِمْ تَزْوِيجًا وَأَرَادَ نَبِيُّ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِنَّ يَفِيَ بِتَزْوِيجِ بَنَاتِهِ.
قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى: فَاتَّقُوا اللَّهَ وَلا تُخْزُونِ فِي ضَيْفِي
١١٠٧٠ - أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ حَمَّادٍ الطِّهْرَانِيُّ فِيمَا كَتَبَ إِلَيَّ، ثنا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْكَرِيمِ الصَّنْعَانِيُّ، حَدَّثَنِي عَبْدُ الصَّمَدِ بْنُ مَعْقِلٍ أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ وَهْبَ بْنَ مُنَبِّهٍ قَالَ: فَدَخَلُوا عَلَى لُوطٍ يَعْنِي الْمَلائِكَةَ فَلَمَّا رَأَتْهُمُ امْرَأَتُهُ أَعْجَبَهَا حُسْنَهُمْ وَجَمَالَهُمْ فَأَرْسَلَتْ إِلَى أَهْلِ الْقَرْيَةِ أَنَّهُ قَدْ نَزَلَ بِنَا قَوْمٌ لَمْ نَرَ قَوْمًا أَحْسَنَ مِنْهُمْ وَلا أَجْمَلَ فَتَسَامَعُوا بِذَلِكَ فَغَشَوْا دَارَ لُوطٍ مِنْ كُلِّ نَاحِيَةٍ تَسَوَّرُوا عَلَيْهِمُ الْجُدْرَانَ فَلَقِيَهُمْ لُوطٌ فَقَالَ: يَا قَوْمِ لَا تَفْضَحُونِي فِي ضَيْفِي وَإِنِّي أزوجكم بناتي ف هن أَطْهُرُ لَكُمْ فَقَالُوا: لَوْ كُنَّا نُرِيدُ بَنَاتَكَ لقد عرفنا مكانهم ولكن لا بد لَنَا مِنْ هَؤُلاءِ الْقَوْمِ الَّذِينَ نَزَلُوا بِكَ، خَلِّ بَيْنَنَا وَبَيْنَهُمْ.
قَوْلُهُ: أَلَيْسَ مِنْكُمْ رَجُلٌ رُشَيْدٌ
١١٠٧١ - حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللَّهِ الطِّهْرَانِيُّ، ثنا حَفْصُ بْنُ عُمَرَ الْعَدَنِيُّ، ثنا الْحَكَمُ بْنُ أَبَانَ، عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ فِي قَوْلِ لُوطٍ لِقَوْمِهِ أَلَيْسَ مِنْكُمْ رَجُلٌ رُشَيْدٌ يَقُولُ: أَلَيْسَ مِنْكُمْ وَاحِدٌ يَقُولُ لَا إِلَهَ إِلا اللَّهُ.
١١٠٧٢ - حَدَّثَنَا سَهْلُ بْنُ يَحْيَى الْعَسْكَرِيُّ، ثنا هَارُونُ بْنُ حَاتِمٍ، ثنا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ ابْنُ أَبِي حَمَّادٍ، عَنْ أَسْبَاطٍ، عَنِ السُّدِّيِّ عَنْ أَبِي مَالِكٍ أَلَيْسَ مِنْكُمْ رَجُلٌ رُشَيْدٌ قَالَ: رَجُلٌ يَأْمُرُ بِالْمَعْرُوفِ وَيَنْهَى، عَنِ الْمُنْكَرِ.
قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى: قَالُوا لَقَدْ عَلِمْتَ مَا لَنَا فِي بَنَاتِكِ مِنْ حق
١١٠٧٣ - حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْعَبَّاسِ مَوْلَى بَنِي هَاشِمٍ، ثنا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ، ثنا سَلَمَةُ، عَنِ ابْنِ إِسْحَاقَ قَالُوا لَقَدْ عَلِمْتَ مَا لنا في بناتك من حَقٍّ أَيْ مِنْ أَزْوَاجٍ
