Translation · EN

His saying, the Exalted: "Or that we do what we wish with our wealth."

11137 - Abu Sa'id al-Ashajj told us, Hammad ibn Khalid told us, from Dawud ibn Qays, from Zayd ibn Aslam regarding "Or that we do what we wish with our wealth," he said: He used to forbid them from tossing coins, and the tossing of coins is among the corruption on the earth.

11138 - 'Ali ibn al-Husayn told us, Abu al-Jamahir told us, Sa'id ibn Bashir told us, from Qatadah regarding "Or that we do what we wish with our wealth," meaning: what we desire.

11139 - My father told us, 'Isa ibn Ja'far told us, Sufyan al-Thawri told us regarding his saying: "Or that we do what we wish with our wealth," he said: Zakah (almsgiving).

His saying, the Exalted: "Indeed, you are the forbearing, the discerning."

11140 - Abu Zur'ah told us, Minjab told us, Bishr told us, from Abu Rawq, from al-Dahhak, from Ibn 'Abbas regarding the statement of the people of Shu'ayb: "Indeed, you are the forbearing, the discerning," he said: They are saying: Indeed, you are neither forbearing nor discerning.

11141 - al-Mundhir ibn Shadhan told us, Zakariyya ibn 'Adi told us, Abu al-Malih told us, from Maymun ibn Mihran regarding the saying of Allah: "Indeed, you are the forbearing, the discerning," he said: [It was said] in mockery.

11142 - 'Ali ibn al-Hasan told us, Abu al-Jamahir told us, Sa'id ibn Bashir told us, from Qatadah regarding his saying: "Indeed, you are the forbearing, the discerning," he said: Mockery of the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him.

His saying, the Exalted: "He said, 'O my people, have you considered if I am upon evidence from my Lord.'"

11143 - It was mentioned from Yazid ibn Harun, Ja'far ibn Sulayman told us, he said: I heard Abu 'Imran al-Jawni read this verse: "I am upon evidence from my Lord," he said: Upon certainty.

His saying, the Exalted: "And He has provided me with a good provision from Him."

11144 - Abu Sa'id al-Ashajj told us, Abu Usamah told us, from Salamah ibn Nashit, from al-Dahhak regarding "a good provision," he said: The good provision is the lawful (halal).
