His saying, the Exalted: "My opposition."

11151 - My father told us, 'Amr ibn Marzuq told us, 'Imran—meaning al-Qattan—told us, he said: I heard al-Hasan regarding His saying: "And O my people, let not my opposition lead you into," he said: "My harming [you]."

11152 - My father told us, Hisham ibn Khalid told us, Shu'ayb ibn Ishaq told us, Sa'id ibn Abi 'Arubah told us, from Qatadah regarding his saying: "Let not my opposition lead you into," he says: "Let it not lead you into my separation [from you]."

11153 - 'Abd Allah ibn Sulayman told us, al-Husayn ibn 'Ali told us, 'Amir ibn al-Furat told us, Asbat told us, from al-Suddi: "Let not my opposition lead you into," [means]: "Let not my enmity lead you into."

His saying, the Exalted: "...that you will be struck by the like of what struck the people of Noah," the verse.

11154 - Muhammad ibn 'Awf al-Humsi told us, Abu al-Mughirah 'Abd al-Quddus ibn al-Hajjaj told us, Ibn Abi Ghaniyah told us, he said: 'Abd al-Malik ibn Abi Sulayman narrated to me, from Abu Layla al-Kindi, he said: I was with my master holding his beast when the people had surrounded 'Uthman ibn 'Affan, may Allah be pleased with him, when he looked down upon us from his house and said: "O my people, let not my opposition lead you into being struck by the like of what struck the people of Noah, or the people of Hud, or the people of Salih. O my people, do not kill me, for if you kill me, you will be like this," and he interlaced his fingers.

11155 - 'Abd Allah ibn Sulayman told us, al-Husayn ibn 'Ali told us, 'Amir ibn al-Furat told us, Asbat told us, from al-Suddi: "...that you will be struck by the like of what struck the people of Noah, or the people of Hud, or the people of Salih," he says: "Let not my enmity lead you to persist in misguidance and disbelief, so that the punishment that struck them might strike you."

His saying, the Exalted: "And the people of Lot are not far from you."

11156 - 'Ali ibn al-Husayn told us, Abu al-Jamahir told us, Sa'id ibn Bashir told us, from Qatadah regarding his saying: "Let not my opposition lead you into being struck by the like of what struck the people of Noah, or the people of Hud, or the people of Salih. And the people of Lot are not far from you," [he said]: "They were destroyed by your hands just yesterday."

11157 - My father told us, Muhammad ibn 'Abd al-A'la told us, Muhammad ibn Thawr told us, from Ma'mar, from Qatadah regarding His saying: "And the people of Lot are not far from you," he said: "They were of recent time, shortly after the people of Noah, 'Ad, and Thamud."
