Salamah, who said: Nafi' ibn al-Azraq said to Ibn 'Abbas: "O Ibn 'Abbas, what is 'the al-wird' (leading/arrival)?" He said: "Entering." He replied: "It is only standing at its brink." Ibn 'Abbas said: "By Allah, I shall certainly enter it, and you shall certainly enter it, and I hope that I am among those whom Allah described: 'Then We will save those who feared Allah,' and that you are among those whom Allah, the Exalted, said: 'And We will leave the wrongdoers in it, on their knees.'" He said: "And that is how he used to recite it. Woe to you, O Nafi' ibn al-Azraq, do you not read the Book of Allah? 'And the command of Pharaoh was not discerning. He will precede his people on the Day of Resurrection, and will lead them into the Fire.' Do you think, woe to you, that he only stood them at its brink, while Allah, the Exalted, says: 'And on the day the Hour is established, admit the people of Pharaoh to the severest punishment?'"
His saying, the Exalted: "And evil is the arrival which is arrived at."
11195 - Ahmad ibn al-Azhar Abu al-Azhar informed me in what he wrote to me, Wahb ibn Jarir told us, my father told us, from 'Ali ibn al-Hakam, from al-Dahhak, regarding His saying: "And evil is the arrival which is arrived at," for Ibn 'Abbas used to say: The 'arrival' (al-mawrid) in the Qur'an occurs in four places, [including]: 'And there is none of you except that he will come to it.'
His saying, the Exalted: "And they have been followed in this [world] with a curse, and on the Day of Resurrection."
11196 - Hajjaj ibn Hamzah told us, Shababah told us, Warqa' told us, from Ibn Abi Najih, from Mujahid, regarding His saying: "And they have been followed in this with a curse, and on the Day of Resurrection," he said: They were added another curse, so those are two curses.
11197 - 'Abd Allah ibn Sulayman ibn al-Ash'ath told us, al-Husayn ibn 'Ali told us, 'Amir ibn al-Furat told us, Asbat told us, from al-Suddi: "And they have been followed in this with a curse, and on the Day of Resurrection," he said: No prophet was sent after Pharaoh but that he was cursed upon his tongue, and on the Day of Resurrection, the curse of Allah will join another in the Fire.
His saying, the Exalted: "An evil gift [to be] given."
11198 - My father told us, Abu Salih told us, Mu'awiyah ibn Salih told me, from 'Ali ibn Abi Talhah, from Ibn 'Abbas regarding His saying: "An evil gift to be given," he says: The curse of the world and the Hereafter.
11199 - My father told us, Hisham ibn Khalid told us, Shu'ayb ibn Ishaq told us, Ibn Abi 'Arubah told us, from Qatadah: "An evil gift to be given," he says: Two curses from Allah have followed him successively: the curse of the world and the Hereafter.
سَلامَةَ قَالَ نَافِعُ بْنُ الأَزْرَقِ لابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ يَا ابْنَ عَبَّاسٍ مَا الْوُرُودُ قَالَ: الدُّخُولُ قَالَ إِنَّمَا الْوُرُودُ: الْوقُوفُ عَلَى شَفِيرِهَا قَالَ: فَقَالَ ابْنُ عَبَّاسٍ وَاللَّهِ لأَرِدَنَّهَا وَلَتَرِدَنَّهَا وَإِنِّي لأَرْجُوا أَنْ أَكُونَ مِنَ الَّذِينَ قَالَ اللَّهُ: ثُمَّ نُنَجِّي الَّذِينَ اتَّقَوْا وَتَكُونَ أَنْتَ مِنَ الَّذِينَ قَالَ اللَّهُ تَعَالَى: وَنَذَرُ الظَّالِمِينَ فِيهَا جِثِيًّا قَالَ: وَكَذَلِكَ كَانَ يَقْرَأُهَا وَيْحَكَ يَا نَافِعُ بْنُ الأَزْرَقِ أَمَا تَقْرَأُ كِتَابَ اللَّهِ وَمَا أَمْرُ فِرْعَوْنَ بِرَشِيدٍ يَقْدُمُ قَوْمَهُ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ فَأَوْرَدَهُمُ النَّارَ أَفَتُرَاهُ وَيْحَكَ إِنَّمَا أَقَامَهُمْ عَلَى شَفِيرِهَا وَاللَّهُ تَعَالَى يَقُولُ: وَيَوْمَ تَقُومُ السَّاعَةُ أَدْخِلُوا آلَ فِرْعَوْنَ أَشَدَّ الْعَذَابِ
قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى: وَبِئْسَ الْوِرْدُ الْمَوْرُودُ
١١١٩٥ - أَخْبَرَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ الأَزْهَرِ أَبُو الأَزْهَرِ فِيمَا كَتَبَ إِلَيَّ، ثنا وَهْبُ بْنُ جَرِيرٍ، ثنا أَبِي عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ الْحَكَمِ، عَنِ الضَّحَّاكِ، أَمَّا قَوْلُهُ: وَبِئْسَ الْوِرْدُ الْمَوْرُودُ فَإِنَّ ابْنَ عَبَّاسٍ كَانَ يَقُولُ: المورد فِي الْقُرْآنِ أَرْبَعَةُ أَوْرَادٍ وَإِنْ مِنْكُمْ إِلا وَارِدُهَا.
قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى: وَأُتْبِعُوا فِي هَذِهِ لَعْنَةً وَيَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ
١١١٩٦ - حَدَّثَنَا حَجَّاجُ بْنُ حَمْزَةَ، ثنا شَبَابَةُ، ثنا وَرْقَاءُ، عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي نَجِيحٍ، عَنْ مُجَاهِدٍ، قَوْلُهُ: وَأُتْبِعُوا فِي هَذِهِ لَعْنَةً وَيَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ: زِيدُوا بِلَعْنَةٍ أُخْرَى فَتِلْكَ لَعْنَتَانِ.
١١١٩٧ - حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ بْنِ الأَشْعَثَ، ثنا الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ، ثنا عَامِرُ بْنُ الْفُرَاتِ، ثنا أَسْبَاطٌ، عَنِ السُّدِّيِّ وَأُتْبِعُوا فِي هَذِهِ لَعْنَةً وَيَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ قَالَ:
لَمْ يُبْعَثْ نَبِيُّ بَعْدَ فِرْعَوْنَ إِلا لُعِنَ عَلَى لِسَانِهِ وَيَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ تَرْفُدُ لَعْنَةُ اللَّهِ أُخْرَى فِي النَّارِ
قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى: الرِّفْدُ الْمَرْفُودُ
١١١٩٨ - حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي، ثنا أَبُو صَالِحٍ حَدَّثَنِي مُعَاوِيَةُ بْنُ صَالِحٍ، عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ أَبِي طَلْحَةَ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَوْلُهُ: بِئْسَ الرِّفْدُ الْمَرْفُودُ يَقُولُ: لَعْنَةُ الدُّنْيَا وَالآخِرَةِ.
١١١٩٩ - حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي، ثنا هِشَامُ بْنُ خَالِدٍ، ثنا شُعَيْبُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ، ثنا ابْنُ أَبِي عَرُوبَةَ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ بِئْسَ الرِّفْدُ الْمَرْفُودُ يَقُولُ: تَرَادَفَتْ عَلَيْهِ لَعْنَتَانِ مِنَ اللَّهِ لَعْنَةُ الدنيا والآخرة.
