His saying, the Exalted: "That is from the tidings of the towns which We relate to you."
11200 - Abu Bakr ibn Abi Musa told us, Harun ibn Hatim told us, 'Abd al-Rahman ibn Abi Hammad told us, from Asbat, from al-Suddi, from Abu Malik, regarding His saying: "Tidings" (anba'), he means: stories.
His saying, the Exalted: "Of them are some standing."
11202 - Muhammad ibn Sa'id informed me in what he wrote to me, my father told us, my uncle told me, my father told me, from his father, from Ibn 'Abbas, regarding His saying: "Of them are some standing," he means: by standing, inhabited towns.
11203 - My father told us, Yahya ibn Salih al-Wuhazi told us, from Abu Ma'shar, from Muhammad ibn Ka'b, regarding His saying: "Standing and harvested," he said: What remained of their buildings is standing and not destroyed.
His saying, the Exalted: "And harvested."
11204 - Abu Bahir Muhammad ibn Jabir al-Muharibi told us, 'Ubayd Allah ibn Musa told us, from Sufyan, from al-A'mash, regarding His saying: "Of them are some standing and harvested," he said: Its building collapsed.
11205 - Abu Zur'ah told us, Safwan ibn Salih told us, al-Walid told us, Sa'd ibn Bashir told us, from Qatadah regarding the saying of Allah: "Of them are some standing and harvested," he said: Towns lying fallen on their foundations, collapsed to the ground; you see no trace in them.
11206 - Muhammad ibn Sa'd informed me in what he wrote to me, my father told me, my uncle told me, my father told me, from his father, from Ibn 'Abbas, regarding His saying: "Of them are some standing and harvested," he means by harvested: extinguished towns.
His saying, the Exalted: "And We did not wrong them..." the verse.
11207 - Abu Yazid al-Qaratisi informed me in what he wrote to me, Asbagh ibn al-Faraj told us, he said: I heard 'Abd al-Rahman ibn Zayd ibn Aslam saying: Then He excused Himself to His creation and said: "And We did not wrong them, but they wronged themselves. And they were not availed by their gods"—that which We mentioned to you of the punishment of those nations whom We punished—"but they wronged themselves."
His saying, the Exalted: "Which they call upon other than Allah."
11208 - My father told us, Hisham ibn Khalid told us, Shu'ayb ibn Ishaq told us, Sa'id told us, from Qatadah regarding His saying: "Which they call upon other than Allah," he said: The idol.
قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى: ذَلِكَ مِنْ أَنْبَاءِ الْقُرَى نَقُصُهُ عَلَيْكَ
١١٢٠٠ - حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي مُوسَى، ثنا هَارُونُ بْنُ حَاتِمٍ، ثنا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ أَبِي حَمَّادٍ، عَنْ أَسْبَاطٍ، عَنِ السُّدِّيِّ عَنْ أَبِي مَالِكٍ قَوْلُهُ: أَنْبَاءُ يَعْنِي أَحَادِيثَ.
قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى: مِنْهَا قَائِمٌ
١١٢٠٢ - أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ فِيمَا كَتَبَ إِلَيَّ، ثنا أَبِي حَدَّثَنِي عَمِّي حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَوْلُهُ: مِنْهَا قَائِمٌ يَعْنِي: بِالْقَائِمِ قُرًى عَامِرَةً.
١١٢٠٣ - حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي، ثنا يَحْيَى بْنُ صَالِحٍ الْوُحَاظِيُّ، عَنْ أَبِي مَعْشَرٍ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ كَعْبٍ فِي قَوْلِهِ: قَائِمٌ وَحَصِيدٌ قَالَ: مَا كَانَ مِنْ بُنْيَانِهِمْ قَائِمْ لَمْ يُخَرَّبْ.
قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى: وَحَصِيدٌ
١١٢٠٤ - حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَحِيرٍ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَابِرٍ الْمُحَارِبِيُّ، ثنا عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُوسَى، عَنْ سُفْيَانَ، عَنِ الأَعْمَشِ فِي قَوْلِهِ: مِنْهَا قَائِمٌ وَحَصِيدٌ قَالَ خَرَّ بُنْيَانُهُ.
١١٢٠٥ - حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو زُرْعَةَ، ثنا صَفْوَانُ بْنُ صَالِحٍ، ثنا الْوَلِيدُ، ثنا سَعْدُ بْنُ بَشِيرٍ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ فِي قَوْلِ اللَّهِ: مِنْهَا قَائِمٌ وَحَصِيدٌ قَالَ قُرًى خَاوِيَةً عَلَى عُرُوشِهَا لاصِقً بِالأَرْضِ وَلا تَرَى فِيهَا أَثَرًا.
١١٢٠٦ - أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ فِيمَا كَتَبَ إِلَيَّ حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي حَدَّثَنِي عَمِّي حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَوْلُهُ: مِنْهَا قَائِمٌ وَحَصِيدٌ يَعْنِي بِالْحَصِيدِ قُرًى خَامِدَةً.
قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى: وَمَا ظلمناهم الآيَةَ
١١٢٠٧ - أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو يَزِيدَ الْقَرَاطِيسِيُّ فِيمَا كَتَبَ إِلَيَّ، ثنا أَصْبَغُ بْنُ الْفَرَجِ قَالَ:
سَمِعْتُ عَبْدَ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنَ زَيْدِ بْنِ أَسْلَمَ يَقُولُ ثُمَّ اعْتَذَرَ إِلَى خَلْقِهِ فَقَالَ: وَمَا ظَلَمْنَاهُمْ وَلَكِنْ ظَلَمُوا أَنْفُسَهُمْ فَمَا أَغْنَتْ عَنْهُمْ آلِهَتَهُمْ: فَمَا ذَكَرْنَا لَكَ مِنْ عَذَابِ مَنْ عَذَّبْنَاهُ مِنَ الأُمَمِ وَلَكِنْ ظَلَمُوا أَنْفُسَهُمْ.
قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى: يَدْعُونَ مِنْ دُونِ اللَّهِ
١١٢٠٨ - حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي، ثنا هِشَامُ بْنُ خَالِدٍ، ثنا شُعَيْبُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ، ثنا سَعِيدٌ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ: قَوْلُهُ: يَدْعُونَ مِنْ دُونِ اللَّهِ قَالَ: الْوَثَنُ.
