11235 - My father told us, Abu Salih told us, Mu'awiyah ibn Salih told me, from 'Amir ibn Habib, from Khalid ibn Mihran, regarding His saying: "Except what your Lord wills," he said: It is regarding the people of Tawhid (monotheism) from the people of the Qibla.
It was narrated from Muqatil ibn Hayyan that he said: The exception applies to those who are in the Fire from the people of Tawhid until they emerge from it.
11236 - My father told us, Muhammad ibn 'Abd al-A'la al-San'ani told us, Muhammad ibn Thawr told us, from Ma'mar, from al-Dahhak ibn Muzahim, regarding His saying: "Except what your Lord wills," he says: Except for what they stayed in the Fire until they were caused to enter Paradise.
11237 - My father told us, Hisham told us, Ibn Khalid told us, Shu'ayb ibn Ishaq told us, Ibn Abi 'Aruba told us, from Qatadah regarding His saying: "As for those who were wretched, they will be in the Fire. For them therein is sighing and wailing. Abiding therein as long as the heavens and the earth endure, except what your Lord wills." Allah knows best concerning its intended meaning according to how it occurred.
11238 - 'Abd Allah ibn Sulayman told us, al-Husayn ibn 'Ali told us, 'Amir ibn al-Furat told us, from Asbat, from al-Suddi, regarding "Except what your Lord wills," he said: When this verse was revealed, they used to hope for an exit, then His saying: "Abiding therein forever" abrogated it.
His saying, the Exalted: "Indeed, your Lord is an accomplisher of what He wills."
11239 - It was mentioned from Ja'far ibn Sulayman, from al-Juraydi, I heard Abu Nadrah saying: The entire Quran concludes with this verse: "Indeed, your Lord is an accomplisher of what He wills."
His saying, the Exalted: "And as for those who were blessed, they will be in Paradise."
11240 - Abu Zur'ah told us, Minjab told us, Bishr ibn 'Umarah told us, from Abu Rawq, from al-Dahhak, from Ibn 'Abbas, regarding His saying: "And as for those who were blessed," he means: after the wretchedness they were in.
His saying, the Exalted: "Abiding therein as long as the heavens and the earth endure."
The explanation of these two terms has already preceded.
11241 - Zakariyya ibn Dawud ibn Bakr told us, Muhammad ibn Yahya told me, 'Abd al-Samad ibn Mas'ud ibn 'Abd Allah told me, Mubashshir ibn 'Abd Allah told me, from Hasan ibn al-Husayn, from al-Hasan.

١١٢٣٥ - حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي، ثنا أَبُو صَالِحٍ حَدَّثَنِي مُعَاوِيَةُ بْنُ صَالِحٍ، عَنْ عَامِرِ بْنِ حَبِيبٍ، عَنْ خَالِدِ بْنِ مِهْرَانَ قَوْلُهُ: إِلا مَا شَاءَ رَبُّكَ قَالَ: إِنَّهُ فِي أَهْلِ التَّوْحِيدِ مِنْ أَهْلِ الْقِبْلَةِ.
وَرُوِيَ، عَنْ مُقَاتِلِ بْنِ حَيَّانَ قَالَ: وَقَعَ الاسْتِثْنَاءُ عَلَى مَنْ فِي النَّارِ مِنْ أَهْلِ التَّوْحِيدِ حَتَّى يَخْرُجُوا مِنْهَا.
١١٢٣٦ - حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الأَعْلَى الصَّنْعَانِيُّ، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ ثَوْرٍ، عَنْ مَعْمَرٍ، عَنْ الضَّحَّاكِ، بْنِ مُزَاحِمٍ قَوْلُهُ: إِلا مَا شَاءَ رَبُّكَ يَقُولُ إِلا مَا مَكَثُوا فِي النَّارِ حَتَّى أُدْخِلُوا الْجَنَّةَ.
١١٢٣٧ - حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي، ثنا هِشَامٌ، ثنا بْنُ خَالِدٍ، ثنا شُعَيْبُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ، ثنا ابْنُ أَبِي عَرُوبَةَ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ قَوْلُهُ: فَأَمَّا الَّذِينَ شَقُوا فَفِي النَّارِ لَهُمْ فِيهَا زَفِيرٌ وشهيق خالدين فيها ما دامت السماوات وَالأَرْضُ إِلا مَا شَاءَ رَبُّكَ اللَّهُ أَعْلَمُ بِتَثْنِيَتِهِ «١» عَلَى مَا وَقَعَتْ بِهِ.
١١٢٣٨ - حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ، ثنا الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ، ثنا عَامِرِ بْنِ الْفُرَاتِ، عَنْ أَسْبَاطٍ، عَنِ السُّدِّيِّ إِلا مَا شَاءَ رَبُّكَ فَإِنَّ هَذِهِ الآيَةَ يَوْمَ نَزَلَتْ كَانُوا يَطْمَعُونَ فِي الْخُرُوجِ فَنَسَخَتهَا قَوْلُهُ: خَالِدِينَ فِيهَا أَبَدًا.
قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى: إِنَّ رَبَّكَ فَعَّالٌ لِمَا يُرِيدُ
١١٢٣٩ - ذُكِرَ، عَنْ جعفر بن سليمان، عن الجريدي، سَمِعْتُ أَبَا نَضْرَةَ يَقُولُ يَنْتَهِي الْقُرْآنُ كُلُّهُ إِلَى هَذِهِ الآيَةِ إِنَّ رَبَّكَ فَعَّالٌ لِمَا يريد.
قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى: وَأَمَّا الَّذِينَ سُعِدُوا فَفِي الْجَنَّةِ
١١٢٤٠ - حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو زُرْعَةَ، ثنا مِنْجَابٌ، ثنا بِشْرٌ بْنُ عُمَارَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي رَوْقٍ، عَنِ الضَّحَّاكِ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَوْلُهُ: وَأَمَّا الَّذِينَ سُعِدُوا يَعْنِي بَعْدَ الشَّقَاءِ الَّذِي كَانُوا فِيهِ
قَوْلُهُ تعالى: خالدين فيها ما دامت السماوات وَالْأَرْضُ
قَدْ تَقَدَّمَ تَفْسِيرُ هَذَيْنِ الْحَرْفَيْنِ.
