11253 - 'Ali ibn al-Hasan al-Hisinjani told us, Abu al-Jumahir told us, Sa'id ibn Bashir told us, from Qatadah regarding His saying: "And do not transgress," he said: He commanded Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) to remain upright upon the command of Allah.

11254 - Abu Yazid al-Qaratisi informed us in what he wrote to me, Asbagh ibn al-Faraj told us, he said: I heard 'Abd al-Rahman ibn Zayd ibn Aslam regarding Allah's saying: "So remain on a right course as you have been commanded, [you] and those who have turned back with you [to Allah], and do not transgress," he said: Transgression is dissent and embarking upon disobedience; that is the transgression.

His saying, the Exalted: "And do not incline toward those who do wrong."

11255 - My father told us, Abu Salih told us, Mu'awiyah ibn Salih told us, from 'Ali ibn Abi Talhah, from Ibn 'Abbas regarding His saying: "And do not incline," he says: Do not compromise (mudahanah).
