His saying, Exalted is He: "On the day when it will be heated in the fire of Hell."

10090 - My father narrated to us, Abu Salamah narrated to us, Wuhayb and Hammad narrated to us, from Suhayl ibn Abi Salih, from his father, from Abu Hurayrah, from the Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) who said: "There is no owner of a hoard who does not pay the Zakat of his hoard, except that he will be brought on the Day of Resurrection along with his hoard, and plates from the fire of Hell will be heated for him, and his forehead, his side, and his back will be branded with them, until Allah judges between His servants on a day whose duration is fifty thousand years of what you count." Then his path is shown, either to Paradise or to the Fire. The narrative belongs to Wuhayb.

His saying, Exalted is He: "And their foreheads and their sides and their backs will be branded with it."

10091 - Abu Sa'id al-Ashajj narrated to us, Waki' narrated to us, from Sufyan, from Qabus, from his father, from Ibn 'Abbas regarding His saying: "On the day when it will be heated in the fire of Hell, and their foreheads will be branded with it," he said: "It is a bald serpent that will coil around his neck or his forehead."

10092 - 'Ali ibn al-Hasan narrated to us, Musaddad narrated to us, Yahya narrated to us, from Sufyan, from al-A'mash, from 'Abd Allah ibn Murrah, from Masruq who said: 'Abd Allah said regarding His saying: "On the day when it will be heated in the fire of Hell, and their foreheads will be branded with it," he said: "A man who hoards his wealth will not be punished by having one dirham touch another dirham, nor one dinar touch another dinar; rather, his skin will be expanded, and no dirham will touch another dirham, nor a dinar touch another dinar."

10093 - My father narrated to us, Abu al-Nadr Ishaq ibn Ibrahim al-Fardisi narrated to us, Mu'awiyah ibn Yahya al-Tarabulsi narrated to us, Arta'ah narrated to us, Abu 'Amir al-Hawzani narrated to us, who said: I heard Thawban, the freed slave of the Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace), say: "There is no man who dies while possessing gold or silver, except that Allah will make for him, for every carat, a plate of fire with which his foot will be branded up to his chin, whether he is subsequently forgiven or punished."

His saying, Exalted is He: "This is what you hoarded for yourselves," [the rest of the] verse.

10095 - Ahmad ibn Sinan narrated to us, 'Abd al-Rahman ibn Mahdi narrated to us, from Sufyan, from Abu Ishaq, from Abu Wa'il, from 'Abd Allah who said: "A serpent will peck at the head of one of them and say: 'I am your wealth which you were stingy with,'" meaning His saying: "They will be shackled with that which they withheld."
