His saying, Exalted is He: "That Allah is free from [the obligation of] the polytheists."
9233 - My father narrated to us, Ahmad ibn 'Abd Allah ibn Yunus narrated to us, 'Ali ibn 'Abis narrated to us from Muslim al-Mula'i from Khaythamah from Sa'd ibn Abi Waqqas: That the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, sent 'Ali with four things: No person who is naked shall perform Tawaf of the House, the Muslims and the polytheists shall not gather after this year, whoever has a treaty between him and the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, it shall remain until its term, and that Allah and His Messenger are free from [the obligation of] the polytheists.
His saying, Exalted is He: "and His Messenger."
9234 - 'Ali ibn al-Husayn narrated to us, Shayban narrated to us, Harun al-A'war narrated to us from Abi Hibarah that "Allah is free from the polytheists and His Messenger," he said: His Messenger, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, is free.
His saying, Exalted is He: "But if you repent, it is better for you."
9235 - 'Ali ibn al-Husayn narrated to us, Musa ibn Harun al-Dulabi narrated to us, Marwan narrated to us from Juwaybir from al-Dahhak regarding His saying: "But if you repent," he says: If you act in accordance with what I have commanded you.
His saying, Exalted is He: "And give tidings to those who disbelieve of a painful punishment."
9236 - 'Isam ibn Rawwad ibn al-Jarrah al-'Asqalani narrated to us, Adam narrated to us, Abu Ja'far al-Razi narrated to us from al-Rabi' ibn Anas from Abi al-'Aliyah regarding His saying: "of a painful punishment," he said: The 'alim (painful) is that which causes pain in all of the Quran.
Likewise, it was interpreted by Sa'id ibn Jubayr, al-Dahhak ibn Muzahim, Qatadah, Abu Malik, Abu 'Imran al-Jawni, and Muqatil ibn Hayyan.
9237 - 'Abd Allah ibn Ahmad al-Dashtaki mentioned to me, my father narrated to us, 'Attaf ibn Ghazwan narrated to us, Muhammad ibn Mis'ar narrated to us, he said: Sufyan ibn 'Uyaynah was asked about "the glad tidings" (al-bisharah): Can it be regarding something unpleasant? He said: Have you not heard His saying: "And give tidings to those who disbelieve of a painful punishment."
His saying, Exalted is He: "Except for those with whom you made a treaty among the polytheists."
9238 - My father narrated to us, Ibrahim ibn Musa narrated to us, Hisham ibn Yusuf narrated to us from Ibn Jurayj, Sulayman informed me from Muhammad ibn 'Abbad ibn Ja'far from Ibn 'Abbas: "Except for those with whom you made a treaty among the polytheists," he said: They are Quraysh.
قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى: أَنَّ اللَّهَ بَرِيءٌ مِنَ الْمُشْرِكِينَ
٩٢٣٣ - حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي ثنا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ يُونُسَ ثنا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَابِسٍ عَنْ مُسْلِمِ الْمُلائِيِّ عَنْ خَيْثَمَةَ عَنْ سَعْدِ بْنِ أَبِي وَقَّاصٍ: أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بَعَثَ عَلِيًّا بِأَرْبَعٍ: لَا يَطُوفَنَّ بِالْبَيْتِ عُرْيَانٌ، وَلا يَجْتَمِعُ الْمُسْلِمُونَ وَالْمُشْرِكُونَ بَعْدَ عَامِهِمْ، وَمَنْ كَانَ بَيْنَهُ وَبَيْنَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَهْدٌ فَهُوَ إِلَى عهده، وأن الله ورسوله بريء مِنَ الْمُشْرِكِينَ.
قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى: وَرَسُولُهُ
٩٢٣٤ - حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ الْحُسَيْنِ ثَنَا شَيْبَانُ ثَنَا هَارُونُ الأَعْوَرُ عَنْ أَبِي حِبَرَةَ أَنَّ اللَّهَ بَرِيءٌ مِنَ المشركين ورسوله قال: برىء رَسُولُهُ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ.
قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى: فَإِنْ تُبْتُمْ فَهُوَ خَيْرٌ لَكُمْ
٩٢٣٥ - حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ الْحُسَيْنِ ثنا مُوسَى بْنُ هَارُونَ الدُّولابِيَّ ثنا مَرْوَانُ عَنْ جُوَيْبِرٍ عَنِ الضَّحَّاكِ فِي قَوْلِهِ: فَإِنْ تُبْتُمْ يَقُولُ: إِنْ عَمِلْتُمْ بِالَّذِي أَمَرْتُكُمْ بِهِ.
قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى: وَبَشِّرْ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا بِعَذَابٍ أَلِيمٍ
٩٢٣٦ - حَدَّثَنَا عِصَامُ بْنُ رَوَّادِ بْنِ الْجَرَّاحِ الْعَسْقَلانِيُّ ثنا آدَمُ ثنا أَبُو جَعْفَرٍ الرَّازِيُّ عَنِ الرَّبِيعِ بْنِ أَنَسٍ عَنْ أَبِي الْعَالِيَةِ فِي قوله: بعذاب أَلِيمٌ قَالَ: الأَلِيمُ: الْمُوجِعُ فِي الْقُرْآنِ كُلِّهِ.
وَكَذَلِكَ فَسَّرَهُ سَعِيدُ بْنُ جُبَيْرٍ وَالضَّحَّاكُ بْنُ مُزَاحِمٍ وَقَتَادَةُ وَأَبُو مَالِكٍ وَأَبُو عِمْرَانَ الْجَوْنِيُّ وَمُقَاتِلُ بْنُ حَيَّانَ.
٩٢٣٧ - ذَكَرَ لِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ الدَّشْتَكِيُّ ثنا أَبِي ثنا عَطَّافُ بْنُ غَزْوَانَ ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مِسْعَرٍ قَالَ: سُئِلَ سُفْيَانُ بْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ عَنِ الْبِشَارَةِ: أَتَكُونُ فِي الْمَكْرُوهِ؟ قَالَ:
أَلَمْ تَسْمَعْ قَوْلَهُ: وَبَشِّرْ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا بِعَذَابٍ أَلِيمٍ
قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى: إِلا الَّذِينَ عَاهَدْتُمْ مِنَ الْمُشْرِكِينَ
٩٢٣٨ - حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي ثنا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ مُوسَى ثنا هِشَامُ بْنُ يُوسُفَ عَنِ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ أَخْبَرَنِي سُلَيْمَانُ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَبَّادِ بْنِ جَعْفَرٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ إِلا الَّذِينَ عَاهَدْتُمْ مِنَ الْمُشْرِكِينَ قَالَ: هُمْ قُرَيْشٌ.
