His saying, the Exalted: "And they will swear by Allah: If we were able, we would have gone forth with you" - the verse.
10071 - Ibn Abi Aslam mentioned it, Ishaq ibn Rahawayh narrated to us, Muhammad ibn Ishaq al-Wasiti informed us, from Juwaybir, from al-Dahhak: "And they will swear by Allah: If we were able, we would have gone forth with you," he said: Their swearing by Allah while they are liars.
His saying, the Exalted: "And Allah knows that they are indeed liars."
10072 - Muhammad ibn al-'Abbas narrated to us, Muhammad ibn 'Amr narrated to us, Salamah narrated to us, from Ibn Ishaq regarding "And Allah knows that they are indeed liars": meaning, that they were able.
His saying, the Exalted: "May Allah pardon you, why did you give them permission?"
10073 - Al-Husayn ibn 'Abd Allah al-Wasiti narrated to us, al-Nadr ibn Shumayl informed us, Musa ibn Sarwan informed us, from Muwarriq al-'Ijli regarding his saying: "May Allah pardon you, why did you give them permission?" he said: His Lord, the Almighty and Majestic, reproached him.
10074 - My father narrated to us, Muhammad ibn Abi 'Umar al-'Adani narrated to us, Sufyan narrated to us, from Mas'ad who said: 'Awn said: He informed him of the pardon before He informed him of the sin, so He said: "May Allah pardon you, why did you give them permission?"
10075 - My father narrated to us, Abu Husayn ibn Sulayman al-Razi narrated to us, Sufyan ibn 'Uyaynah narrated to us, from Mas'ad, from 'Awn who said: Have you heard of a reproach better than this? He began with the pardon before the reproach, so He said: "May Allah pardon you, why did you give them permission?"
10076 - Usayd ibn 'Asim narrated to us, Sa'id ibn 'Amir narrated to us, from Hammam, from Qatadah regarding his saying: "May Allah pardon you, why did you give them permission until it becomes clear to you who are truthful and you know the liars." Then Allah revealed afterwards in Surat al-Nur: "So if they ask your permission for some of their affairs, then grant permission to whom you wish of them and ask forgiveness for them of Allah; indeed, Allah is Forgiving, Merciful."
10077 - Hajjaj ibn Hamzah narrated to us, Shababah narrated to us, Warqa' narrated to us, from Ibn Abi Najih, from Mujahid regarding his saying: "May Allah pardon you, why did you give them permission?" [He said]: A group of people said: Ask the Messenger for permission; if he permits you, then sit back, and if he does not permit you, then [also] sit back.

قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى: وَاللَّهُ يَعْلَمُ إِنَّهُمْ لَكَاذِبُونَ.
١٠٠٧٢ - حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْعَبَّاسِ ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو ثنا سَلَمَةُ عَنِ ابْنِ إِسْحَاقَ وَاللَّهُ يَعْلَمُ إِنَّهُمْ لَكَاذِبُونَ: أَيْ أَنَّهُمْ يَسْتَطِيعُونَ.
قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى: عَفَا اللَّهُ عَنْكَ لِمَ أَذِنْتَ لَهُمْ
١٠٠٧٣ - حَدَّثَنَا الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ الْوَاسِطِيُّ، أَنْبَأَ النَّضْرُ بْنُ شُمَيْلٍ، أَنْبَأَ مُوسَى بْنُ سَرْوَانَ عَنْ مُوَرِّقِ الْعِجْلِيُّ فِي قَوْلِهِ: عَفَا اللَّهُ عَنْكَ لِمَ أَذِنْتَ لَهُمْ قَالَ: عَاتَبَهُ رَبُّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ.
١٠٠٧٤ - حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَبِي عُمَرَ الْعَدَنِيُّ، ثنا سفيان عن مسعد قَالَ:
قَالَ عَوْنُ: أَخْبَرَهُ بِالْعَفْوِ قَبْلَ أَنْ يُخْبِرَهُ بِالذَّنْبِ، فَقَالَ: عَفَا اللَّهُ عَنْكَ لِمَ أَذِنْتَ لَهُمْ.
١٠٠٧٥ - حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي ثنا أَبُو حُصَيْنِ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ الرَّازِيُّ ثنا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ عن مسعد عَنْ عَوْنٍ قَالَ: سَمِعْتُمْ بِمُعَاتَبَةٍ أَحْسَنَ مِنْ هَذَا؟! بَدَأَ بِالْعَفْوِ قَبْلَ الْمُعَاتَبَةِ فَقَالَ:
عَفَا اللَّهُ عَنْكَ لِمَ أَذِنْتَ لَهُمْ.
١٠٠٧٦ - حَدَّثَنَا أُسَيْدُ بْنُ عَاصِمٍ ثنا سَعِيدُ بْنُ عَامِرٍ عَنْ هَمَّامٍ عَنْ قَتَادَةَ قَوْلُهُ: عَفَا اللَّهُ عَنْكَ لِمَ أَذِنْتَ لَهُمْ حَتَّى يَتَبَيَّنَ لَكَ الَّذِينَ صَدَقُوا وَتَعْلَمَ الْكَاذِبِينَ ثُمَّ أَنْزَلَ اللَّهُ بَعْدُ فِي سُورَةِ النُّورِ: فَإِذَا اسْتَأْذَنُوكَ لِبَعْضِ شَأْنِهِمْ فَأْذَنْ لِمَنْ شِئْتَ مِنْهُمْ وَاسْتَغْفِرْ لَهُمُ اللَّهَ إِنَّ اللَّهَ غَفُورٌ رَحِيمٌ.
١٠٠٧٧ - حَدَّثَنَا حَجَّاجُ بْنُ حَمْزَةَ ثنا شَبَابَةُ ثنا وَرْقَاءُ عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي نَجِيحٍ عَنْ مُجَاهِدٍ «١»
قَوْلُهُ: عَفَا اللَّهُ عَنْكَ لِمَ أَذِنْتَ لَهُمْ نَاسٌ قَالُوا: اسْتَأْذِنُوا الرَّسُولَ، فَإِنْ أَذِنَ لَكُمْ فَاقْعُدُوا، وَإِنْ لَمْ يأذن لكم فأقعدوا.
