Volume 6 · Page 64His saying (the Almighty): 'And they would have hurried about.'

Translation · EN

His saying, the Exalted: "And [they would have] scurried [about] in your midst."

10089 - Hajjaj ibn Hamzah narrated to us, Shababah narrated to us, Warqa’ narrated to us, from Ibn Abi Najih, from Mujahid: "And [they would have] scurried about in your midst"—meaning: they would have moved about in agitation.

10090 - My father narrated to us, Muhammad ibn ‘Abd al-A’la narrated to us, Muhammad ibn Thawr narrated to us, from Ma’mar, from Qatadah regarding his saying: "And [they would have] scurried about in your midst"—meaning: they would have hurried about in your midst.

His saying, the Exalted: "In your midst."

10091 - And by the same chain from Qatadah regarding his saying: "In your midst"—he says: among you.

10092 - ‘Abd Allah ibn Sulayman narrated to us, al-Husayn ibn ‘Ali narrated to us, ‘Amir ibn al-Furat narrated to us, Asbat narrated to us, from al-Suddi regarding his saying: "And [they would have] scurried about in your midst"—he says: they would have moved their baggage until they entered among you.

His saying, the Exalted: "Seeking [to cause] you tribulation (Fitnah)."

10093 - Hajjaj ibn Hamzah narrated to us, Shababah narrated to us, Warqa’ narrated to us, from Ibn Abi Najih, from Mujahid: "Seeking to cause you tribulation (Fitnah)"—those seeking [to cause] you [this] are: ‘Abd Allah ibn Nabtal, ‘Abd Allah ibn Ubayy ibn Salul, Rifa’ah ibn Tabut, and Aws ibn Qayzi.

His saying, the Exalted: "The tribulation (Fitnah)."

10094 - ‘Abd Allah ibn Sulayman narrated to us, al-Husayn ibn ‘Ali narrated to us, ‘Amir ibn al-Furat narrated to us, Asbat narrated to us, from al-Suddi: "The tribulation"—he says: disbelief (Kufr). It was also narrated from ‘Abd al-Rahman ibn Zayd something similar.

His saying, the Exalted: "And among you are listeners to them; and Allah is Knowing of the wrongdoers."

10100 - Hajjaj ibn Hamzah narrated to us, Shababah narrated to us, Warqa’ narrated to us, from Ibn Abi Najih, from Mujahid regarding His saying: "And among you are listeners to them"—meaning: those who convey your conversations, spies who are not hypocrites themselves.
