Translation · EN

[His saying, the Exalted: "Or an entry."]

10336 - Abu Zur‘ah narrated to us, Minjab ibn al-Harith narrated to us, Bishr ibn ‘Umarah reported to us, from Abu Rawq, from al-Dahhak, from Ibn ‘Abbas regarding His saying: "Or an entry" (mudakkhalan), and the 'mudakkhal' is the place of dwelling (mutabawwa'). He says: If they could find a place of dwelling.

10337 - My father narrated to us, Abu Salih narrated to us, Mu‘awiyah ibn Salih narrated to us, from ‘Ali ibn Abi Talhah, from Ibn ‘Abbas regarding His saying: "Or an entry," and the entry is the tunnel (sarab).

His saying, the Exalted: "They would turn to it."

10338 - Hajjaj ibn Hamzah narrated to us, Shababah narrated to us, Warqa’ narrated to us, from Ibn Abi Najih, from Mujahid, "They would turn to it," he said: They would flee towards it away from you.

His saying, the Exalted: "While they are rushing (jamhun)."

10339 - ‘Abd Allah ibn Sulayman narrated to us, al-Husayn ibn ‘Ali reported to us, ‘Amir ibn al-Furat narrated to us, from Asbat, from al-Suddi regarding His saying: "While they are rushing," as for 'yajmahun' (rushing): it means they are hastening.

His saying, the Exalted: "And among them are those who criticize you concerning the [distribution of] charities."

[The First Aspect]

10340 - Ahmad ibn Mansur al-Ramadi narrated to us, ‘Abd al-Razzaq narrated to us, Ma‘mar reported to us, from al-Zuhri, from Abu Salamah ibn ‘Abd al-Rahman ibn ‘Awf, from Abu Sa‘id al-Khudri who said: While the Prophet—may Allah bless him and grant him peace—was distributing [charity], Ibn Dhu al-Khuwaysirah al-Tamimi came to him and said: "Be just, O Messenger of Allah!" He replied: "Woe to you! Who would be just if I am not just?" ‘Umar ibn al-Khattab said: "Allow me, O Messenger of Allah, to strike his neck." He said: "Leave him, for he has companions; one of you would belittle his own prayer compared to their prayer, and his own fasting compared to their fasting. They pass through the religion just as an arrow passes through its target. One looks at its feathers and finds nothing, then one looks at its shaft"—Ma‘mar says: "one sees nothing in it"—"then one looks at its bindings and sees nothing, then one looks at its arrowhead and finds nothing in it, as it has outpaced the offal and blood. Their sign is a black man, one of his hands—or he said: one of his arms—is like the nipple of a woman's breast, or like a piece of flesh moving. They will emerge at a time of discord among the people." He said: Then it was revealed concerning them: "And among them are those who criticize you concerning the charities; if they are given from it, they are pleased; but if they are not given from it, they become angry." Abu Sa‘id said: I bear witness that I heard this hadith from the Prophet—may Allah bless him and grant him peace—and I bear witness that when ‘Ali killed them and I was with him, the man was brought according to the description which the Prophet—may Allah bless him and grant him peace—described.

١٠٣٣٦ - حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو زُرْعَةَ ثنا مِنْجَابُ بْنُ الْحَارِثِ، أَنْبَأَ بِشْرُ بْنُ عُمَارَةَ عَنْ أَبِي رَوْقٍ عَنِ الضَّحَّاكِ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَوْلُهُ: أَوْ مُدَّخَلا وَالْمُدَّخَلُ: الْمُتَبَوَّأُ. يَقُولُ: لَوْ يَجِدُونَ مُتَبَوَّأً.

١٠٣٣٧ - حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي ثنا أَبُو صَالِحٍ ثنا مُعَاوِيَةُ بْنُ صَالِحٍ عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ أَبِي طَلْحَةَ عَنِ ابْنِ عباس قوله: أَوْ مُدَّخَلا والمدخل: السرب.

قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى: لَوَلَّوْا إِلَيْهِ

١٠٣٣٨ - حَدَّثَنَا حَجَّاجُ بْنُ حَمْزَةَ ثنا شَبَابَةُ ثنا وَرْقَاءُ عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي نَجِيحٍ عَنْ مُجَاهِدٍ «١» لَوَلَّوْا إِلَيْهِ قَالَ: لَفَرُّوا إِلَيْهِ مِنْكُمْ.

قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى: وَهُمْ يَجْمَحُونَ.

١٠٣٣٩ - حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ، أَنْبَأَ الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ ثنا عَامِرِ بْنِ الْفُرَاتِ عَنْ أَسْبَاطٍ عَنِ السُّدِّيِّ قوله: وَهُمْ يَجْمَحُونَ أَمَّا يَجْمَحُونَ: فَيُسْرِعُونَ.

قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى: وَمِنْهُمْ مَنْ يلمزك في الصدقات

١٠٣٤٠ - حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مَنْصُورٍ الرَّمَادِيُّ ثنا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ «٢» ، أَنْبَأَ مَعْمَرٌ عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ عَوْفٍ عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ قَالَ: بَيْنَا النَّبِيُّ- صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ- يَقْسِمُ قَسْمًا إِذَا جَاءَهُ ابْنُ ذِي الْخُوَيْصِرَةِ التَّمِيمِيُّ فَقَالَ: اعْدِلْ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ، فَقَالَ: وَيْلَكَ، فَمَنْ يَعْدِلُ إِذَا لَمْ أَعْدَلْ؟! فَقَالَ عُمَرُ بْنُ الْخَطَّابِ: ائْذَنْ لِي يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ، فَأَضْرِبُ عُنُقَهُ، قَالَ: دَعْهُ، فَإِنَّ لِهَذَا أَصْحَابًا يَحْقِرُ أَحَدُكُمْ صَلاتَهُ مَعَ صَلَاتِهِمْ، وَصِيَامَهُ مَعَ صِيَامِهِمْ، يَمْرُقُونَ مِنَ الدِّينِ كَمَا يَمْرُقُ السَّهْمُ مِنَ الرَّمِيَّةِ، فَيُنْظَرُ فِي قُذَذِهِ فَلا يُوجَدْ فِيهِ شَيْءٌ ثُمَّ يُنْظَرُ فِي نَضِيِّهِ كَذَا يَقُولُ مَعْمَرٍ: فَلا يَرَى فِيهِ شَيْءٌ ثُمَّ يُنْظَرُ فِي رِصَافِهِ فَلا يَرَى فِيهِ شَيْءٌ ثُمَّ يُنْظَرُ فِي نَصْلِهِ فَلا يُوجَدُ فِيهِ شيْءٌ، قَدْ سَبَقَ الْفَرْثَ وَالدَّمَ، آيَتُهُمْ: رَجُلٌ أَسْوَدٌ إِحْدَى يَدَيْهِ أَوْ قَالَ: مِثْلُ إِحْدَى يَدَيْهِ مِثْلُ حَلَمَةِ ثَدْي الْمَرْأَةِ، أَوْ مِثْلَ الْبَضْعَةِ تَدَرْدَرُ يَخْرُجُونَ عَلَى حِينَ فترة من
