10392 - ‘Ali ibn al-Husayn narrated to us, al-Muqaddami narrated to us, Ibn Sawa’ narrated to us, from Ibn Abi ‘Arubah, from Qatadah regarding "and for the cause of Allah": He said: One who has no means of transport shall be carried [on a mount] using the Zakat funds. Qatadah also said: A man may be carried [on a mount] in the cause of Allah using Zakat funds, and he is given [from it] when he comes to have nothing, then a share is assigned to him thereafter along with the Muslims.
10393 - Abu Yazid al-Qaratisi informed us in what he wrote to me, Asbagh narrated to us, he said: I heard ‘Abd al-Rahman ibn Zayd ibn Aslam regarding the saying of Allah: "and for the cause of Allah," he said: The warrior fighting in the cause of Allah.
10394 - Isma‘il ibn ‘Abd Allah ibn Mas‘ud al-Asbahani narrated to us, ‘Umar ibn Hafs ibn Ghiyath narrated to us, my father narrated to us, al-A‘mash narrated to us, ‘Umarah ibn ‘Umayr and Jami‘ ibn Shaddad narrated to us, from Abu Bakr ibn al-Harith ibn Hisham, from Abu Ma‘qil, that he came to the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) and said: "Indeed, Umm Ma‘qil has vowed to perform Hajj with you, and I have a camel that I have set aside as a habis (endowment) in the cause of Allah, so shall I give it to her so she may ride it?" He replied: "Yes." It was also narrated from Muqatil ibn Hayyan that he said: They are the mujahidin (warriors).
His saying, the Almighty: "and the wayfarer."
10395 - My father narrated to us, Abu Salih—the scribe of al-Layth—narrated to us, Mu‘awiyah ibn Salih narrated to us, from ‘Ali ibn Abi Talhah, from Ibn ‘Abbas, he said: The wayfarer is the poor guest who arrives among the Muslims.
10396 - ‘Abd Allah ibn Sa‘id al-Ashajj narrated to us, Waki‘ narrated to us, from Sufyan, from Jabir, from Abu Ja‘far regarding His saying: "and the wayfarer," he said: The traveler passing from one land to another. It was also narrated from al-Hasan: something similar.
10397 - My father narrated to us, Hisham ibn ‘Ammar narrated to us, Muhammad ibn Shu‘ayb ibn Shabur narrated to us, Bukayr ibn Ma‘ruf narrated to us, from Muqatil ibn Hayyan regarding His saying: "and the wayfarer": The one who is stranded; he is given the amount that will get him to his destination.
His saying, the Almighty: "an ordinance from Allah, and Allah is All-Knowing, All-Wise."
10398 - Muhammad ibn Yahya narrated to us, al-‘Abbas ibn al-Walid informed us, Yazid ibn Zuray‘ narrated to us, from Sa‘id, from Qatadah, regarding His saying: "an ordinance from Allah, and Allah is All-Knowing, All-Wise": Eight shares which Allah has ordained and made known.
