Volume 6 · Page 89His saying (the Exalted): 'Indeed, the hypocrites – it is they who are the defiantly disobedient.'

Translation · EN

10504 - Muhammad ibn Yahya narrated to us, al-'Abbas ibn al-Walid informed us, Yazid ibn Zuray' narrated to us, from Sa'id, from Qatadah regarding His saying: "So He forgot them": They forgot who was of good, and they did not forget from the evil.

His saying, the Almighty: "Indeed, the hypocrites are the defiantly disobedient (al-fasiqun)."

10505 - It was mentioned from Sulayman ibn Harb, from Hammad ibn Zayd, from Ibn Jurayj, from Mujahid: "The defiantly disobedient (al-fasiqun)": Those who disobey.

10506 - Abu Yazid al-Qaratisi informed us, in what he wrote to me, Asbagh ibn al-Faraj informed us, he said: I heard 'Abd al-Rahman ibn Zayd ibn Aslam regarding His saying: "The defiantly disobedient": He said: "The liars."

His saying, the Almighty: "Allah has promised the hypocrite men and the hypocrite women."

10507 - My father narrated to us, Qabisah narrated to us, Sufyan narrated to us, from Isma'il, Ahmad ibn 'Abd Allah ibn Yunus narrated to us, al-Hasan ibn 'Ayyash narrated to us, from Isma'il and Mujahid, from al-Sha'bi, who said: "The liar is a hypocrite."

10508 - 'Amr ibn 'Abd Allah al-Awdi narrated to us, Waki' narrated to us, from al-A'mash, from Thabit ibn Hurmuz Abu al-Miqdam, from Abu Yahya, he said: Hudhayfah was asked, "Who is the hypocrite?" He said: "The one who describes Islam but does not act upon it."

His saying, the Almighty: "And the disbelievers, the fire of Hell."

10509 - My father narrated to us, Abu Salamah narrated to us, Hammad narrated to us, 'Ali ibn Zayd informed us, from al-Qasim ibn 'Abd al-Rahman: That Ibn Mas'ud was asked about the hypocrites, and he said: "They are placed in coffins of fire, and then they are closed upon them in the lowest depth of the Fire."

His saying, the Almighty: "Abiding eternally therein; it is sufficient for them."

10500 - Abu Zur'ah narrated to us, Yahya ibn 'Abd Allah ibn Bukayr narrated to us, 'Abd Allah ibn Lahi'ah narrated to us, 'Ata' ibn Dinar narrated to us, from Sa'id ibn Jubayr regarding His saying: "Abiding eternally therein," meaning: They will not die.

His saying, the Almighty: "And Allah has cursed them, and for them is an enduring punishment."
