The Second Aspect:

9251 - Ahmad ibn 'Uthman informed me in what he wrote to me, Ahmad ibn Mufaddal narrated to us from Asbat from al-Suddi regarding His saying: "Then when the sacred months have passed," and they are the four that I have numbered for you, which are: twenty days from Dhu al-Hijjah, Muharram, Safar, the month of Rabi' al-Awwal, and ten days from the month of Rabi' al-Akhir.

It was narrated from Qatadah something similar.

The Third Aspect:

9252 - Abu Zur'ah narrated to us, Minjab narrated to us, Bishr ibn 'Umarah informed us from Abu Rawq from al-Dahhak regarding His saying: "Then when the sacred months have passed," he said: Ten days from Dhu al-Qi'dah, Dhu al-Hijjah, and Muharram, seventy nights.

The Fourth Aspect:

9253 - My father narrated to us, Ahmad ibn al-Walid ibn Burdun al-Antaki narrated to us, Muhammad ibn Ja'far ibn Muhammad narrated to us from Ja'far ibn Muhammad from his father regarding the saying of Allah: "Then when the sacred months have passed," they are Dhu al-Qi'dah, Dhu al-Hijjah, Muharram, and Rajab.

[His saying, Exalted is He: "Then kill the polytheists"]

[The First Aspect]

9254 - My father narrated to us, Ishaq ibn Musa al-Ansari narrated to us, he said: Sufyan ibn 'Uyaynah said: 'Ali ibn Abi Talib said: The Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, sent four swords: a sword against the polytheists of the Arabs; Allah the Exalted said: "Then kill the polytheists wherever you find them."

9255 - My father narrated to us, Abu Salih narrated to us, Mu'awiyah ibn Salih narrated to us from 'Ali ibn Abi Talhah from Ibn 'Abbas regarding His saying: "Then when the sacred months have passed, then kill the polytheists wherever you find them," He commanded him to unsheathe the sword against those with whom there was a treaty if they did not enter into Islam, and to annul what had been named for them of covenant and treaty; he did away with the treaty and did away with the initial condition.

9256 - My father narrated to us, al-Husayn ibn 'Isa ibn Maysarah narrated to us, Muhammad ibn al-Mu'alla al-Yami narrated to us, Juwaybir narrated to us from al-Dahhak, he said: Every verse in the Book of Allah in which there is a covenant between the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, and any of the polytheists, and every treaty and period, was abrogated by Surah Bara'ah: "And seize them, and besiege them, and sit in wait for them at every place of observation."
