12042 - My father narrated to us, Hisham ibn Khalid narrated to us, Shu‘ayb ibn Ishaq narrated to us, Sa‘id ibn Abi ‘Aruba narrated to us, from Qatada, regarding His saying: "Then have they felt secure that there will not come to them an overwhelming [gashiyah] from the punishment of Allah," meaning: a retribution from the punishment of Allah.

12043 - Muhammad ibn Hammad al-Tahrani informed us in what he wrote to me, ‘Abd al-Razzaq narrated to us, from Ma‘mar, from Qatada, regarding "An overwhelming [gashiyah] from the punishment of Allah," he said: "A strike that shall overwhelm them."

His saying, the Exalted: "Or that there should come to them the Hour suddenly while they perceive not?"

12044 - My father narrated to us, Abu ‘Awn al-Ziyadi narrated to us, Ibrahim ibn Tahman narrated to me, Muhammad ibn Ziyad narrated to me, from Abu Hurayra, who said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "The Hour will be established while a man has his morsel in his mouth; he chews it but does not swallow it, nor does he cast it out. And while two men have spread out their garment to trade, they do not fold it, nor do they complete their transaction."

12045 - My father narrated to us, Abu Salama Musa ibn Isma‘il narrated to us, Hammad narrated to us, from ‘Ali ibn al-Hakam, from ‘Ikrama, that he said: "The Hour will not be established until a herald calls out: 'O people, the Hour has come upon you, the Hour has come upon you,' three times."

12046 - Hajjaj ibn Hamza narrated to us, Shababa narrated to us, from Ibn Abi Najih, from Mujahid, regarding His saying: "Suddenly [baghtatan]," he said: "Unexpectedly."

His saying, the Exalted: "Say, 'This is my way.'"

12047 - Abu Zur‘a narrated to us, Minjab narrated to us, Bishr ibn ‘Umara informed us, from Abu Rawq, from al-Dahhak, from Ibn ‘Abbas: "Say, 'This is my way, I invite,'" he said: "This is my call."

12048 - Abu Yazid al-Qaratisi informed us in what he wrote to me, Asbagh informed us, he said: I heard ‘Abd al-Rahman ibn Zayd ibn Aslam regarding the saying of Allah: "Say, 'This is my way, I invite to Allah,'" he said: "This is my command, my sunnah, and my path."

His saying, the Exalted: "I invite to Allah with insight, I and those who follow me."

12049 - ‘Ali ibn al-Hasan narrated to us, Abu al-Jamahir narrated to us, Sa‘id narrated to us, from Qatada, regarding His saying: "I invite to Allah with insight," meaning: "Upon guidance, I and those who follow me."

12050 - Abu Yazid al-Qaratisi informed us in what he wrote to me, Asbagh ibn al-Faraj informed us, he said: I heard ‘Abd al-Rahman ibn Zayd ibn Aslam regarding the saying of Allah: "I invite to Allah with insight, I and those who follow me."
