11370 - Abu Sa'id al-Ashajj narrated to us, [saying] 'Ubayd Allah narrated to us, from Isra'il, from Abu Yahya, from Mujahid, regarding "[that he may] enjoy himself and play," he said: We will be active and play.

11371 - My father narrated to us, [saying] Muhammad ibn 'Abd al-A'la narrated to us, [saying] Muhammad ibn Thawr narrated to us, from Ma'mar, from Qatadah: "[that he may] enjoy himself," he said: He will exert himself and amuse himself.

It was narrated from Muqatil ibn Hayyan, he said: He will amuse himself and play.

11372 - Abu Yazid al-Qaratisi informed us in what he wrote to me, [saying] Asbagh ibn al-Faraj informed us, he said: I heard 'Abd al-Rahman ibn Zayd ibn Aslam regarding the saying of Allah: "Send him with us tomorrow [that he may] enjoy himself and play," he said: He will tend his sheep, observe, understand, and know what men know.

His saying, the Almighty: "He said, 'Indeed, it saddens me that you should take him..." to His saying: "...are unaware."

11373 - Muhammad ibn al-'Abbas, the mawla of Banu Hashim, narrated to us, [saying] 'Abd al-Rahman ibn Salamah narrated to us, [saying] Salamah narrated, he said: Muhammad ibn Ishaq said: "He said, 'Indeed, it saddens me that you should take him, and I fear that a wolf will eat him while you are unaware of him.'" They did not cease asking him until he sent him with them. He called him over when they intended to take him away, then he embraced him and prayed for him.

11374 - My father narrated to us, [saying] Abu Dharr Muhammad ibn Thabit ibn Mihran narrated to us, [saying] 'Abd al-Wahhab ibn 'Ata' narrated to us, from 'Imran ibn Hudayr, from Abu Mijlaz, he said: It is not appropriate for anyone to teach their son evil, for the sons of Jacob did not know that a wolf eats people, until their father said to them: "I fear that a wolf will eat him."

His saying, the Almighty: "They said, 'If a wolf should eat him while we are a strong troop...""

11375 - 'Abd Allah ibn Sulayman narrated to us, [saying] al-Husayn ibn 'Ali narrated to us, [saying] 'Amir ibn al-Furat narrated to us, [saying] Asbat narrated to us, from al-Suddi: He said: I will not send him with you, I fear that a wolf will eat him... They said: "If a wolf should eat him while we are a strong troop, then indeed we would be losers," so he sent him with them.

His saying, the Almighty: "So when they took him and resolved..."

11376 - And by the same chain, from al-Suddi, regarding His saying: "So when they took him," they brought him out, while he was dear to them.
