Translation · EN

12107 - My father narrated to us, Hisham ibn Khalid narrated to us, Shu‘ayb ibn Ishaq narrated to us, Sa‘id narrated to us, from Qatada, regarding His saying: "Rawasi" (mountains/stabilizers), meaning: mountains.

His saying: "And rivers, and of all fruits He made therein two pairs."

12108 - My father narrated to us, ‘Amr ibn ‘Ali al-Sayrafi narrated to us, Abu Qutaybah narrated to us, ‘Uqbah ibn al-Qattan narrated to us, from ‘Ikrimah, from Ibn ‘Abbas, who said: "There is no water on the earth except water that descended from the sky, but there are veins in the earth that change it. Whoever wishes to know that salt water could return to being sweet, let him lift the water up from the earth."

His saying: "He causes the night to cover the day."

12109 - ‘Ali ibn al-Husayn narrated to us, Abu al-Jamahir narrated to us, Sa‘id narrated to us, from Qatada, regarding "He causes the night to cover the day" (yughshi al-layla al-nahar): He clothes the day with the night.

His saying: "Indeed in that are signs for a people who reflect."

12110 - Abu Sa‘id al-Ashaj narrated to us, Ibn Yaman narrated to us, Sufyan narrated to us, from Simak, from Sa‘id ibn Jubayr, regarding "In that are signs," he said: "A man sends... to his family."

His saying, the Exalted: "For a people who reflect."

12111 - al-Hasan ibn ‘Arafah narrated to us, ‘Ali ibn Thabit narrated to us, from al-Wazi‘ ibn Nafi‘, from Salim ibn ‘Abd Allah ibn ‘Umar, from his father, who said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Reflect upon the bounties of Allah, and do not reflect upon Allah (His Essence)."

His saying: "And in the earth are neighboring plots."

12112 - My father narrated to us, ‘Umar ibn Hafs ibn ‘Umar ibn Sa‘d ibn Malik al-Awsabi narrated to us, Ibn Jasir narrated to us, from Ibn Lahi‘ah, from Ibn Abi ‘Amrah, from ‘Ikrimah, from Ibn ‘Abbas, regarding His saying: "And in the earth are neighboring plots," he said: "He means by that the good, sweet earth that brings forth its vegetation by the permission of its Lord, adjacent to it is the barren, ugly, salty land that does not bring forth anything, yet they are one earth, and their water is the same; the salty [water] is made sweet, yet one of them is favored over the other in produce."

12113 - It was mentioned from Abu Ahmad al-Zubayri, Israel narrated to us, from ‘Ata’, from Sa‘id, from Ibn ‘Abbas, regarding "And in the earth are neighboring plots," he said: "This one is sweet and this one is sour."

12114 - Abu Sa‘id al-Ashaj narrated to us, al-Minqari narrated to us, from Sufyan, from Layth, from Mujahid, regarding "And in the earth are neighboring plots," he said: "Salty and sweet."
