in the language of his people, and Muhammad (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) was sent in the language of his people, which is Arabic. So they did not adopt the language of ‘Isa (peace be upon him), nor did they follow what was revealed to Muhammad (may Allah bless him and grant him peace); therefore, do not eat their slaughtered animals, for they are not People of the Book.
His saying, the Exalted: "And We certainly sent Moses with Our signs"
12210 - From Mujahid, ‘Ata’, and ‘Ubayd ibn ‘Umayr regarding His saying: "And We certainly sent Moses with Our signs," he said: With the nine clear signs: the flood, the locusts, the lice, the frogs, the blood, the staff, his hand, the years [of drought], and the deficiency in fruits.
His saying, the Exalted: "And remind them of the days of Allah."
12211 - Muhammad ibn Aban al-Ju’fi narrated to us, from Abu Ishaq, from Sa’id ibn Jubayr, from Ibn ‘Abbas, from Ubayy ibn Ka’b, from the Prophet (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) regarding the saying of the Blessed and Exalted: "And remind them of the days of Allah," he said: [Remind them] of the blessings of Allah, Blessed and Exalted be He.
12212 - From Mujahid (may Allah be pleased with him), he said: When "And remind them of the days of Allah" was revealed, he said: Admonish them.
12213 - From al-Rabi’ (may Allah be pleased with him) regarding His saying: "And remind them of the days of Allah," he said: [Remind them] of the occurrences of Allah in the early generations.
His saying, the Exalted: "Indeed in that are signs for everyone patient and grateful."
12214 - From Qatadah (may Allah be pleased with him) regarding His saying: "Indeed in that are signs for everyone patient and grateful," he said: The excellent servant is the servant who, when tested, is patient, and when given, is grateful.
12215 - Via the path of Abu Zabyan, from ‘Alqamah, from Ibn Mas’ud (may Allah be pleased with him), he said: Patience is half of faith, and certainty is all of faith. He said: So I mentioned this Hadith to al-‘Ala’ ibn Yazid (may Allah be pleased with him), and he said: Is this not in the Qur’an: "Indeed in that are signs for everyone patient and grateful"? [And] "Indeed in that are signs for the certain [in faith]."
His saying, the Exalted: "And [remember] when your Lord proclaimed, 'If you are grateful, I will surely increase you'"
12216 - From al-Rabi’ (may Allah be pleased with him) regarding His saying: "And [remember] when your Lord proclaimed, 'If you are grateful, I will surely increase you'"
