Salsal is water that falls upon good soil, then recedes from it, causing it to dry out, and then it becomes like thin pottery.
12372 - From Ibn Abbas, may Allah be pleased with both of them, he said: Salsal is dry earth that is moistened after it has dried.
12373 - From Ibn Abbas, may Allah be pleased with both of them, he said: Salsal is clay mixed with sand.
12374 - From Ibn Abbas, may Allah be pleased with both of them, he said: Salsal is that which, when you strike it, it rings (salsala).
12375 - From Qatadah, may Allah be pleased with him, he said: Salsal is dry earth that makes a ringing sound.
12376 - From Ibn Abbas, may Allah be pleased with both of them, he said: Salsal is clay that you squeeze with your hand, and the water comes out from between your fingers.
His saying: "From altered black mud."
12377 - From Ibn Abbas, may Allah be pleased with both of them, regarding His saying: "From altered black mud," he said: From moist clay.
12378 - From Ibn Abbas, may Allah be pleased with both of them, regarding His saying: "From altered black mud," he said: From stinking clay.
His saying: "And the jinn We created before from the fire of scorching wind."
12379 - From Ibn Abbas, may Allah be pleased with both of them, regarding His saying: "And the jinn We created before from the fire of scorching wind," he said: It means from the best of people.
12380 - From Ibn Abbas, regarding His saying: "From the fire of scorching wind," he said: The Samum is the hot wind that kills.
12381 - From Ibn Mas'ud, may Allah be pleased with him, he said: The scorching wind from which he was created,

الصلصال، الماء يقع عَلَى الأَرْض الطيبة ثُمَّ يحسر عنها فتيبس، ثُمَّ تصير مثل الخزف الرقاق «١» .
١٢٣٧٢ - عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُمَا قَالَ: الصلصال، هُوَ التراب اليابس الّذِي يبل بعد يبسه «٢» .
١٢٣٧٣ - عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُمَا قَالَ: الصلصال، طين خلط برمل «٣» .
١٢٣٧٤ - عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُمَا قَالَ: الصلصال، الّذِي إِذَا ضربته صلصل «٤» .
١٢٣٧٥ - عَنْ قَتَادَة رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ: الصلصال، التراب اليابس الّذِي يسمع لَهُ صلصلة «٥» .
١٢٣٧٦ - عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُمَا قَالَ: الصلصال، الطين تعصره بيدك فيخرج الماء مِنْ بين أصابعك «٦» .
قوله: مِنْ حَمَإٍ مَسْنُونٍ
١٢٣٧٧ - عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُمَا فِي قَوْلِهِ: مِنْ حَمَإٍ مَسْنُونٍ قَالَ:
مِنْ طين رطب «٧» .
١٢٣٧٨ - عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُمَا فِي قَوْلِهِ: مِنْ حَمَإٍ مَسْنُونٍ قَالَ مِنْ طين منتن «٨» .
قوله: وَالْجَانَّ خَلَقْنَاهُ مِنْ قَبْلُ مِنْ نَارِ السَّمُومِ
١٢٣٧٩ - عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُمَا فِي قَوْلِهِ: وَالْجَانَّ خَلَقْنَاهُ مِنْ قَبْلُ مِنْ نَارِ السَّمُومِ قَالَ: مِنَ أحسن الناس «٩»
١٢٣٨٠ - عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ فِي قَوْلِهِ: مِنْ نَارِ السَّمُومِ قَالَ: السَّمُومِ الحارة التي تقتل. «١٠»
١٢٣٨١ - عَنِ ابْنِ مَسْعُودٍ رَضِيَ اللهُ عنه قال: السموم التي خلق منها
