That is His saying: "It has seven gates, for every gate of them is a portion divided." He said: On every gate of them are seventy thousand pavilions of fire, in every pavilion are seventy thousand domes of fire, in every dome are seventy thousand ovens of fire; for every oven of them are seventy thousand vents of fire, in every vent are seventy thousand rocks of fire, on every rock of them are seventy thousand stones of fire, in every stone of them are seventy thousand scorpions of fire, for every scorpion of them are seventy thousand tails of fire, for every tail of them are seventy thousand segments of fire, in every segment of them are seventy thousand jars of poison and seventy thousand stoves of fire; they fuel that fire. He said: Indeed, the first of the people of the Fire who enter will find at the gate four hundred thousand of the keepers of Hell, their faces black, their fangs ghastly, for Allah has removed mercy from their hearts; there is not in the heart of any one of them even a mustard seed of mercy.
12397 - From Yazid ibn Abi Malik, may Allah be pleased with him, he said: Hell is seven fires; there is no fire among them but that it looks at the fire beneath it, fearing that it might consume it.
12398 - From Abdullah ibn Amr, he said: Indeed, there is a prison in the Fire that only the worst of the worst enter; its floor is fire, its roof is fire, its walls are fire, and the fire blazes within it.
His saying: "[In a state of] peace."
12399 - From Al-Dahhak regarding His saying: "[In a state of] peace," he said: They are secure from death; so they will neither die, nor grow old, nor become ill, nor be naked, nor go hungry.
12400 - From Abu Umamah, he said: The people of Paradise enter Paradise while still having in their hearts from the world some resentment and malice, until when they descend and face one another upon the couches, Allah removes what was in their hearts in the world of rancor.
His saying: "And We will remove whatever is in their breasts of rancor."
12401 - From Qatadah regarding His saying: "And We will remove whatever is in their breasts of rancor," he said: Abu Al-Mutawakkil Al-Naji narrated to us, from Abu Sa'id Al-Khudri, that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "The believers will be saved from the Fire, then they will be detained upon a bridge between Paradise and the Fire, and there will be retribution for some of them against others for the wrongs that were between them in the world, until when they are refined and purified, they will be given permission to enter Paradise. By Him in whose hand is my soul, one of them will be more guided to his abode in Paradise than he was to his abode that he had in the world." Qatadah said: It used to be said: They are compared to nothing but the people of Friday when they depart from their Friday prayer."
