Translation · EN

11403 - Muhammad ibn al-'Abbas narrated to us, [saying] 'Abd al-Rahman ibn Salamah narrated to us, [saying] Salamah narrated to us, from Muhammad ibn Ishaq who said: When they reached the place where they intended to do what they intended, they stripped him of his shirt, while he was pleading with them by Allah, by [the ties of] kinship, and by the lack of sin on his part toward them. However, no feeling of compassion stirred them toward him, and they cast him into the well with harshness, cruelty, and lack of mercy. Then they sat, according to what reached me, observing for the rest of that day what he would do in the well, or what would be done to him. Then a caravan of Arabs approached, so they sent their water-drawer, and he let down his bucket.
