Translation · EN

His saying: "And upon Allah is the direction of the way, and among them are those that deviate..."

12477 - From Ibn Abbas regarding His saying: "And upon Allah is the direction of the way," he says: The declaration [of the path]. "And among them are those that deviate," he said: The various desires.

12478 - From Ibn Abbas: "And upon Allah is the direction of the way," he says: It is upon Allah to explain guidance and error. "And among them are those that deviate," he said: The divergent paths.

12479 - From Mujahid regarding His saying: "And upon Allah is the direction of the way," he said: The path of truth is upon Allah.

12480 - From Qatadah regarding His saying: "And upon Allah is the direction of the way," he said: It is upon Allah to explain His lawful and unlawful, His obedience and His disobedience. "And among them are those that deviate," he said: Regarding the path that swerves from the truth. In the recitation of Ibn Mas'ud [it is]: "And among you are those that deviate."

His saying: "In it you graze [your livestock]."

12481 - From Ibn Abbas regarding His saying: "In it you graze," he said: You pasture your livestock in it.

His saying: "And it is He who subjected the sea to eat from it tender meat..."

12482 - From Matar that he did not see any harm in traveling by sea, and he said: Allah did not mention it in the Quran except in a positive way.

12483 - From Qatadah regarding His saying: "And it is He who subjected the sea to eat from it tender meat," he means: The fish of the sea. "And to extract from it ornaments which you wear," he said: This is pearls.

12484 - From al-Suddi regarding His saying: "To eat from it tender meat," he said: It is the fish and what is in it of [sea] creatures.

His saying: "And you see the ships plowing through it..."

12485 - From Ibn Abbas regarding His saying: "And you see the ships plowing (mawakhir)," he said: Moving.

12486 - From Mujahid regarding His saying: "And you see the ships plowing through it," he said: The ships plow through the wind, and the wind does not plow through the ships, except for the massive ships.
