12555 - From Qatadah regarding His saying: "And their tongues describe the falsehood," i.e., they speak with the claim that for them is the best [outcome], [which is] the boys (1).
12556 - From Sa'id ibn Jubayr regarding His saying: "And that they will be neglected," he said: Abandoned in the Fire, forgotten therein forever (2).
12557 - From al-Hasan regarding His saying: "And that they will be neglected," he said: Hastened to the Fire (3).
12558 - From Ibn Sirin: Ibn Abbas drank some milk, and Mutarrif said to him, "Did you rinse your mouth?" He replied, "I do not worry about that; be generous, and it will be granted to you." A speaker said, "It comes from between excrement and blood." Ibn Abbas replied, "Allah has already said: 'Pure milk, agreeable to the drinkers'" (4).
12559 - From Ibn Abbas regarding the verse, he said: The intoxicant (sakar) is what is forbidden of it, [whereas] the good provision is its raisins, its vinegar, its grapes, and their benefits (5).
12560 - From Ibn Abbas regarding the verse, he said: The intoxicant is the wine (nabidh), and the good provision; then this verse abrogated it: "Indeed, intoxicants, gambling..." (6).
12561 - From Ibn Abbas regarding the verse, he said: The intoxicant is vinegar, wine, and what is similar to it. The good provision: fruit, raisins, and what is similar to it (7).
12561 - From Ibn Abbas regarding His saying: "You take from it intoxicants and good provision," he said: Then Allah forbade the intoxicant after that, along with the prohibition of wine because it is from it. Then He said: "and good provision," which is the lawful [portion] from vinegar, raisins, wine, and the like of that; so Allah affirmed it and made it lawful for the Muslims (8).
12562 - From al-Suddi regarding His saying: "And We sent not before you except men," he said: The Arabs said, "Why were the angels not sent down to us?" Allah said, "I did not send the messengers except as humans." So He said, "Ask the People of the Reminder," and they are the People of the Book from the Jews and Christians, who received [revelation] before you, "if you do not know" that the messengers who were before Muhammad were human beings like him; for they will inform you that they were human beings like him (9).
12563 - From Ibn Abbas regarding "Ask the People of the Reminder," he means the polytheists of Quraysh, [to confirm] that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah in the Torah and the Gospel (10).
