His saying, the Almighty: "And Allah has favored some of you over others in provision"
12579 - From Ibn Abbas regarding His saying: "And Allah has favored some of you over others in provision," the verse. He says: You would not share your wealth and your wives with your slaves, so how do you share My slaves with Me in My authority? (1)

12581 - From Qatadah regarding His saying: "And Allah has favored some of you over others in provision," the verse, he said: This is a parable set forth by Allah. Is there any one among you who would share his owned servant in his wife and on his bed? Then do you equate Allah with His creation and His slaves? If you would not be satisfied with this for yourself, then Allah is more deserving that you should declare Him free from that, and not equate any of His slaves and creation with Allah (3).
12582 - From Ata al-Khurasani regarding the verse, he said: This is a parable set forth by Allah concerning the matter of deities. He said: How do you equate My slaves with Me, when you do not equate your slaves with yourselves, and you deny what you have been favored with over them so that you and they are equal in provision? (4)
12583 - From al-Hasan al-Basri, he said: Umar ibn al-Khattab wrote to Abu Musa al-Ash'ari: Be content with your provision in the world, for the Most Merciful has favored some of His slaves over others in provision as a trial by which He tests everyone. He tests the one to whom He has expanded [provision] on how he shows gratitude for it; and his gratitude to Allah is the fulfillment of the right that He has obligated upon him from what He has provided him and granted him (5).
His saying, the Almighty: "And Allah has made for you from yourselves mates"
12584 - From Qatadah regarding His saying: "And Allah has made for you from yourselves mates," he said: He created Adam, then created his mate from him (6).
