I am satisfied." Then he passed by a valley and heard a complaint and found a foul-smelling wind. He said: "What is this, O Gabriel?" He said: "This is the sound of Hell. It says: 'O Lord, give me what You have promised me, for my chains, my shackles, my burning fire, my boiling water, my thorny shrubs, my foul discharge, and my torment have increased; my depth has become distant and my heat intense. So give me what You have promised me.' He said: 'You have every idolater, male and female, every disbeliever, male and female, every foul person, male and female, and every tyrant who does not believe in the Day of Reckoning.' It said: 'I am satisfied.' Then he traveled until he reached Bayt al-Maqdis (Jerusalem). He descended and tied his horse to a rock, then entered and prayed with the angels, peace be upon them. When the prayer was completed, they said: 'O Gabriel, who is this with you?' He said: 'Muhammad, may Allah bless him and grant him peace.' They said: 'Has he been sent for?' He said: 'Yes.' They said: 'May Allah greet him as a brother and a successor. What an excellent brother, what an excellent successor, and what a blessed arrival he has made.' Then he met the souls of the prophets, peace be upon them, and they praised their Lord. Abraham, peace be upon him, said: 'Praise be to Allah, who took me as an intimate friend (khalil), gave me great dominion, made me a nation (ummah) obedient to Him, an exemplar followed, saved me from the fire, and made it cool and safe for me.' Then Moses, peace be upon him, praised his Lord, the Almighty and Majestic, and said: 'Praise be to Allah, who spoke to me directly, brought about the destruction of Pharaoh's people and the salvation of the Children of Israel at my hands, and made from my nation a people who guide by the truth and act justly with it.' Then David, peace be upon him, praised his Lord and said: 'Praise be to Allah, who gave me great dominion, taught me the Psalms (Zabur), softened iron for me, subjected the mountains to glorify Him along with me, as well as the birds, and gave me wisdom and decisive judgment.' Then Solomon, peace be upon him, praised his Lord and said: 'Praise be to Allah, who subjected the winds to me, subjected the devils to work for me whatever I wished of sanctuaries, statues, basins like reservoirs, and anchored cauldrons; who taught me the language of the birds, gave me abundance from everything, subjected the armies of devils, mankind, and birds to me, favored me over many of His believing servants, gave me a great kingdom that no one after me should have, and made my kingdom a goodly one in which there is no reckoning.' Then Jesus, peace be upon him, praised his Lord and said: 'Praise be to Allah, who made me His Word, and made my likeness the likeness of Adam, whom He created from dust, then said to him, "Be," and he was. He taught me the Book, wisdom, the Torah, and the Gospel, and enabled me to create from clay the likeness of a bird, then blow into it, and it would become a bird by the permission of Allah. He made me heal the blind and the leper, and revive the dead by the permission of Allah. He raised me, purified me, and protected me and my mother from the accursed Satan, so that Satan had no path against us.' Then Muhammad, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, praised his Lord, the Almighty and Majestic, and said: 'All of you have praised your Lord, and I too shall praise my Lord.' He said: 'Praise be to Allah, who sent me as a mercy to the worlds and to all people as a bearer of glad tidings and a warner, revealed the Criterion (al-Furqan) to me in which is an explanation of all things, made my nation the best nation produced for mankind, made my nation a middle (just) nation, and made my nation the...'
رضيت، ثُمَّ أتى عَلَى وادٍ فسمع شكوى ووجد ريحًا منتنة فقال: مَا هَذَا يا جبريل؟
قَالَ: هَذَا صوت جهنم، تقول: رب ائتني بما وعدتني، فلقد كثرت سلاسلي وأغلالي وسعيري وحميمي وضريعي وغساقي وعذابي، وقد بعد قعري واشتد حري فائتني ما وعدتني قَالَ: لك كُلّ مشرك ومشركة وكافر وكافرة وكل خبيث وخبيثة وكل جبار لا يؤمن بيوم الحساب قالت: قد رضيت ثُمَّ سار حتى أتى بيت المقدس فنزل فربط فرسه إِلَى صخرة ثُمَّ دَخَلَ فصلى مع الملائكة عَلَيْهِمْ السلام فلما قضيت الصلاة قالوا:
يا جبريل، مِنْ هَذَا معك؟ قَالَ: مُحَمَّد صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قالوا: وقد بعث إليه؟
قال: نعم، قالوا: حياه الله من أخ ومن خليفة فنعم الأخ ونعم الخليفة نعم المجيئ جاء ثُمَّ لقى أرواح الأَنْبِيَاء عَلَيْهِمْ السلام فأثنوا عَلَى ربهم فقال إبراهيم عَلَيْهِ السَّلامُ:
الحمد لله الّذِي اتخذني خليلًا وأعطاني ملكًا عظيمًا وجعلني أمة قانتًا يؤتم بي وأنقذني مِنَ النَّار وجعلها عليّ بردًا وسلامًا، ثُمَّ إِنَّ موسى عَلَيْهِ السَّلامُ أثنى عَلَى ربه عز وجل فقال: الحمد لله الّذِي كلمني تكليمًا وجعل هلاك آل فرعون ونجاة بني إسرائيل عَلَى يدي وجعل مِنَ أمتي قومًا يهدون بالحق وبه يعدلون، ثُمَّ إِنَّ داود عليه السلام أثنى على ربه فقال: الحمد لله الّذِي جعل لي ملكًا عظيمًا، وعلمني الزبور وألان لي الحديد وسخر لي الجبال يسبحن والطير وأعطاني الحكمة وفصل الخطاب، ثُمَّ إِنَّ سليمان عَلَيْهِ السَّلامُ أثنى عَلَى ربه فقال: الحمد لله الّذِي سخر لي الرياح وسخر لي الشياطين يعملون ما شئت مِنْ مَحَارِيبَ وَتَمَاثِيلَ وَجِفَانٍ كَالْجَوَابِ وَقُدُورٍ رَاسِيَاتٍ وعلمني منطق الطير وآتاني مِنْ كُلّ شيء فضلًا وسخر لي جنود الشياطين والإِنْس والطير وفضلني عَلَى كثير مِنْ عباده المؤمنين وآتاني ملكًا عظيمًا لا ينبغي لأحد مِنْ بعدي وجعل ملكي ملكًا طيبًا ليس فيه حساب، ثُمَّ إِنَّ عِيسَى عَلَيْهِ السَّلامُ أثنى على ربه فقال: الحمد لله الذي جعلني كلمته وجعل مثلي مثل آدَمَ خَلَقَهُ مِنْ تُرَابٍ، ثُمَّ قَالَ لَهُ كن فيكون وعلمني الْكِتَاب والحكمة والتوراة والإنجيل وجعلني أخلق مِّنَ الطِّينِ كَهَيْئَةِ الطَّيْرِ فَأَنفُخُ فِيهِ فَيَكُونُ طيرًا بإذن الله وجعلني أبرئ الأكمه والأبرص وأحي الموتى بإذن الله ورفعني وطهرني وأعاذني وأمي مِنَ الشيطان الرجيم فلم يكن للشيطان علينا سبيل. ثُمَّ إِنَّ مُحَمَّدًا صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أثنى عَلَى ربه عز وجل فقال: «كلكم أثنى عَلَى ربه وإني مثن عَلَى ربي» قَالَ: الحمد لله الّذِي أرسلني رحمة للعالمين وكافة للناس بشيرًا ونذيرًا وأنزل عَلَى الفرقان فيه تبيان لكل شيء وجعل أمتي خير أمة أخرجت للناس وجعل أمتي أمة وسطًا وجعل أمتي هم
