His saying, the Almighty: "Maybe he will benefit us or we will take him as a son"
11438 - Ahmad ibn Sinan narrated to us, [saying] 'Abd al-Rahman ibn Mahdi narrated to us, from Sufyan, from Abu Ishaq, from Abu 'Ubaydah, from 'Abd Allah ibn Mas'ud, [who said]: The most discerning of people are three: The companion of Joseph when he said: "Honor his resting place, maybe he will benefit us or we will take him as a son."
His saying, the Almighty: "And thus We established Joseph in the land"
11439 - 'Abd Allah narrated to us, [saying] al-Husayn narrated to us, [saying] 'Amir narrated to us, from Asbat, from al-Suddi regarding his saying: "Maybe he will benefit us or we will take him as a son," he said: Allah says: "And thus We established Joseph in the land."
His saying, the Almighty: "And to teach him of the interpretation of [some] events"
11440 - Hajjaj ibn Hamzah narrated to us, [saying] Shababah narrated to us, [saying] Warqa' narrated to us, from Ibn Abi Najih, from Mujahid, regarding his saying: "Interpretation of events," [it means]: the expression/explanation of visions.
His saying, the Almighty: "And Allah is predominant over His affair"
11441 - 'Ali ibn al-Husayn narrated to us, [saying] the shaykh of Sa'id al-Baghdadi narrated to us, [saying] 'Abd al-'Aziz narrated to us, from Isra'il, from Abu Husayn, from Sa'id ibn Jubayr regarding his saying: "And Allah is predominant over His affair," he said: [It means] He is the Doer [of what He wills].
11442 - 'Ali ibn al-Husayn narrated to us, [saying] Sa'id narrated to us, [saying] 'Abd al-'Aziz narrated to us, from a man, from Mujahid, he said: [It is a phrasing in] the Arabic language.
His saying, the Almighty: "And when he reached his full strength"
[The first interpretation]
11443 - Abu Sa'id al-Ashajj narrated to us, [saying] 'Abd Allah ibn Idris narrated to us, from 'Abd Allah ibn 'Uthman, from Mujahid, from Ibn 'Abbas regarding "And when he reached his full strength," he said: [It means] thirty-three [years]. It was narrated from Mujahid and Qatadah similarly.
And the second interpretation:
11444 - Abu Sa'id ibn Sulayman narrated to us, [saying] Hushaym narrated to us, from Mansur ibn Zadhan, from al-Hasan regarding his saying: "Reached his full strength," he said: Forty years.

قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى: عَسَى أَنْ يَنْفَعَنَا أَوْ نَتَّخِذَهُ وَلَدًا

قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى: وَكَذَلِكَ مَكَّنَّا لِيُوسُفَ فِي الأَرْضِ
١١٤٣٩ - حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ، ثنا الْحُسَيْنُ، ثنا عَامِرٌ، عَنْ أَسْبَاطٍ، عَنِ السُّدِّيِّ قَوْلُهُ: عَسَى أَنْ يَنْفَعَنَا أَوْ نَتَّخِذَهُ وَلَدًا يَقُولُ اللَّهُ: وَكَذَلِكَ مَكَّنَّا لِيُوسُفَ فِي الأَرْضِ
قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى: وَلِنُعَلِّمَهُ مِنْ تَأْوِيلِ الأَحَادِيثِ
١١٤٤٠ - حَدَّثَنَا حَجَّاجُ بْنُ حَمْزَةَ، ثنا شَبَابَةُ، ثنا وَرْقَاءُ، عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي نَجِيحٍ، عَنْ مُجَاهِدٍ، قوله: تأويل الأحاديث عِبَارَةُ الرُّؤْيَا.
قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى: وَاللَّهُ غَالِبٌ عَلَى أَمْرِهِ
١١٤٤١ - حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ الْحُسَيْنِ، ثَنَا شَيْخُ سَعِيدٍ بغدادي، ثنا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ، عَنْ إِسْرَائِيلُ، عَنْ أَبِي حُصَيْنٍ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ فِي قَوْلِهِ: وَاللَّهُ غَالِبٌ عَلَى أَمْرِهِ قَالَ: فَعَّالٌ.
١١٤٤٢ - حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ الْحُسَيْنِ، ثنا سَعِيدٌ، ثنا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ، عَنْ رَجُلٍ، عَنْ مُجَاهِدٍ: قَالَ: لُغَةٌ عَرَبِيَّةٌ.
قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى: وَلَمَّا بلغ أشده

١١٤٤٣ - حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو سَعِيدٍ الأَشَجُّ، ثنا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بن إدريس، عن عبد الله ابن عُثْمَانَ، عَنْ مُجَاهِدٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ حَتَّى إِذَا بَلَغَ أَشُدَّهُ قَالَ: ثَلاثًا وَثَلاثِينَ- وَرُوِيَ عَنْ مُجَاهِدٍ وَقَتَادَةَ مِثْلُهُ.
وَالْوَجْهُ الثَّانِي:
١١٤٤٤ - حَدَّثَنَا أبي سَعِيدِ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ، ثنا هُشَيْمٌ، عَنْ مَنْصُورِ بْنِ زَاذَانَ، عَنِ الْحَسَنِ فِي قَوْلِهِ: بَلَغَ أشده قال: أربعين سنة.
