Translation · EN

the stone that was at the door of the city." He called for the stone and read it, and their names were on it. The king rejoiced greatly and said: "These were people who had died and were resurrected." Then it spread among them that Allah resurrects the dead. That is His saying: "And thus We caused them to be discovered, that they might know that the promise of Allah is truth and that the Hour is beyond doubt." The king said: "I will certainly build a mosque at the place of these righteous people and I will worship Allah there until I die." That is His saying: "Those who prevailed over their affair said: "We will surely build a mosque over them."

His saying: "Those who prevailed over their affair," he said: "They are the leaders," or he said: "the sultans."

His saying: "They will say, 'Three'"

12752 - From al-Suddi regarding His saying: "They will say, 'Three'," he said: "The Jews, and they will say, 'Five'," he said: "The Christians."

His saying: "guessing at the unseen."

12753 - From Qatadah regarding His saying: "guessing at the unseen," he said: "Throwing out guesses."

His saying: "none knows them except a few"

12754 - From Abu Mas'ud, may Allah be pleased with him, regarding His saying: "none knows them except a few," he said: "I am one of the few; they were seven."

His saying: "so do not argue about them except an apparent argumentation"

12755 - From Mujahid regarding His saying: "so do not argue about them except an apparent argumentation," he said: "He says: 'Except what We have made apparent to you of their affair.'" And: "'And do not ask about them among them anyone'" he said: "He says: 'Do not ask the Jews about the people of the Cave, except for what We have already informed you of regarding their affair.'"

12756 - From Qatadah regarding His saying: "so do not argue about them" the verse. He said: "What We have narrated to you is sufficient for you."
