His saying: "And do not ask about them among them anyone"
12757 - From Ibn Abbas regarding His saying: "And do not ask about them among them anyone," he said: "The Jews, and Allah knows best."
His saying: "And remember your Lord if you forget"
12758 - From Ibn Abbas that he was of the opinion that the exception (istithna') is valid even after a year, then he recited: "And remember your Lord if you forget," and said: "When you remember."
12759 - From Ibn Abbas regarding this verse, he said: "If you forget to say concerning something: 'I will do it,' and you forgot to say: 'If Allah wills' (in sha' Allah), then say when you remember: 'If Allah wills.'"
12760 - From the path of 'Amr ibn Dinar, from 'Ata', that he said: "Whoever swears an oath, he has the right to make the exception for as long as it takes to milk a camel." He said: "And Tawus used to say: 'As long as he is in his sitting [assembly].'"
12761 - From Ibrahim, he said: "The exception is made as long as he is still within his speech."
12762 - From Ibn Abbas regarding His saying: "And remember your Lord if you forget," he said: "If you forget the exception, then make the exception when you remember." He said: "It is specific to the Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace), and it is not for any of us to make an exception except while in the connection of his oath."
12763 - From 'Ikrimah regarding His saying: "And remember your Lord if you forget," he said: "When you get angry."
12764 - From Ibn Abbas, he said: "Indeed, a man may interpret a verse and think it is as such, then he falls further than the distance between the heaven and the earth. Then he recited: 'And they remained in their cave...' the verse, then he said: 'How long did the people remain?' They said: 'Three hundred and nine years.' He said: 'If they had remained as such, Allah would not have said: "Say, Allah is most knowing of how long they remained." Rather, He reported the saying of the people and said: "They will say, 'Three'..." until His saying: "guessing at the unseen," and He informed that they do not know. He said: 'They will say: "And they remained in their cave for three hundred years and added nine."'
