12779 - From Ibn 'Abbas, regarding His saying: "With those who call upon their Lord," he said: "They worship their Lord." And His saying: "And do not let your eyes pass beyond them," he says: "Do not turn away from them toward others."

12780 - From Abu Hashim, regarding the verse, he said: "They used to distinguish themselves in matters of the lawful and the unlawful."

His saying: "And his affair was lost (furutan)."

12781 - From Mujahid, regarding His saying: "And his affair was lost (furutan)," he said: "Neglect."

His saying: "And say, 'The truth is from your Lord.'"

12782 - From Qatadah, regarding His saying: "And say, 'The truth is from your Lord,'" he said: "The truth is the Qur'an."

His saying: "So whoever wills, let him believe; and whoever wills, let him disbelieve."

12783 - From Ibn 'Abbas, regarding His saying: "So whoever wills, let him believe; and whoever wills, let him disbelieve," he says: "Whoever Allah has willed faith for, he believes, and whoever Allah has willed disbelief for, he disbelieves. This is His saying: 'And you do not will except that Allah wills, Lord of the worlds.'"

12784 - From Ibn 'Abbas, regarding His saying: "So whoever wills, let him believe; and whoever wills, let him disbelieve," he said: "This is a threat and a warning."

12785 - From Rabah ibn Zayd, he said: I asked 'Umar ibn Habib about His saying: "So whoever wills, let him believe; and whoever wills, let him disbelieve," he said: "Dawud ibn Rafi' narrated to me that Mujahid used to say: 'It is not that he can frustrate Me,' it is a threat from Allah."

His saying: "With water like molten copper (al-muhl)."

12786 - From Abu Sa'id al-Khudri, from the Prophet (may Allah bless him and grant him peace), regarding His saying: "With water like molten copper (al-muhl)," he said: "Like the dregs of oil. When he brings it close to his face, the skin of his face will fall off into it."

12787 - From Ibn 'Abbas, regarding His saying: "Like molten copper (al-muhl)," he says: "Black like the dregs of oil."
