His saying: "Will you take him and his descendants"
12850 - From Mujahid regarding His saying: "Will you take him and his descendants," he said: "Iblis has five offspring: Thabr, al-A'war, Zalnabur, Masut, and Dasim. Masut is the master of clamor. As for al-A'war and Dasim, I do not know what they do. Thabr is the master of catastrophes, and Zalnabur is the one who causes division among people and enables a man to see the faults of his family."
12851 - From Qatada regarding His saying: "Will you take him and his descendants," he said: "They are his children; they procreate just as the children of Adam procreate, and they are greater in number."
His saying: "Wretched is the exchange for the wrongdoers."
12852 - From Qatada regarding His saying: "Wretched is the exchange for the wrongdoers," he said: "How wretched is that which they exchanged for the worship of their Lord, when they obeyed Iblis—may Allah the Almighty curse him."
His saying: "I did not make them witness the creation of the heavens and the earth, nor the creation of themselves..."
12853 - From al-Suddi regarding His saying: "I did not make them witness the creation of the heavens and the earth, nor the creation of themselves," he said: "He says: 'I did not make the devils—whom you have taken along with Me—witness this.' [Regarding] 'Nor would I have taken the misguiders [as] assistants,' he said: 'The devils.' He said: 'Nor did I take them as assistants for anything, that they might support Me or help Me.'"
His saying: "Nor would I have taken the misguiders [as] assistants."
12854 - From Qatada regarding His saying: "Nor would I have taken the misguiders [as] assistants," he said: "[Meaning] helpers."
His saying: "And We will put between them a barrier of destruction (mawbiq)."
12855 - Via the path of Ali, from Ibn Abbas regarding His saying: "And We will put between them a barrier of destruction (mawbiq)," he says: "A place of destruction."
12856 - From Anas regarding His saying: "And We will put between them a barrier of destruction (mawbiq)," he said: "A valley in Hell made of pus and blood."

قوله: أَفَتَتَّخِذُونَهُ وَذُرِّيَّتَهُ
١٢٨٥٠ - عَنْ مُجَاهِدٍ فِي
قَوْلِهِ: أَفَتَتَّخِذُونَهُ وَذُرِّيَّتَهُ قَالَ: ولد إبليس خمسة:
ثبر والأعور وزلنبور ومسوط وداسم، فمسوط صاحب الصخب، والأعور وداسم لا أدري مَا يفعلان، والثبر صاحب المصائب، وزلنبور الّذِي يفرق بين الناس، ويبصر الرجل عيوب أهله «١» .
١٢٨٥١ - عَنْ قَتَادَة فِي قَوْلِهِ: أَفَتَتَّخِذُونَهُ وَذُرِّيَّتَهُ قَالَ: هم أولاده يتوالدون كما يتوالد بنو آدم وهم أكثر عددًا «٢» .
قوله: بِئْسَ لِلظَّالِمِينَ بَدَلا
١٢٨٥٢ - عَنْ قَتَادَة فِي قَوْلِهِ: بِئْسَ لِلظَّالِمِينَ بَدَلا قَالَ: بئسما استبدلوا بعبادة ربهم إذ أطاعوا إبليس لعنه الله تعالى «٣» .
قوله: مَا أَشْهَدْتُهُمْ خلق السماوات وَالأَرْضِ وَلا خَلْقَ أَنْفُسِهِمْ ...
١٢٨٥٣ - عَنِ السُّدِّيِّ فِي قوله: مَا أَشْهَدْتُهُمْ خَلْقَ السماوات وَالأَرْضِ وَلا خَلْقَ أَنْفُسِهِمْ قَالَ: يَقُولُ: مَا أشهدت الشياطين الذين اتخذتم معي هَذَا وَمَا كُنْتُ مُتَّخِذَ الْمُضِلِّينَ قَالَ: الشياطين عَضُدًا قَالَ: ولا اتخذتهم عضدا عَلَى شيء عضدوني عليه فأعانوني «٤» .
قوله: وَمَا كُنْتُ مُتَّخِذَ الْمُضِلِّينَ عَضُدًا
١٢٨٥٤ - عَنْ قَتَادَة فِي قَوْلِهِ: وَمَا كُنْتُ مُتَّخِذَ الْمُضِلِّينَ عَضُدًا قَالَ: أعواناً.
قوله: وَجَعَلْنَا بَيْنَهُمْ مَوْبِقًا
١٢٨٥٥ - مِنْ طَرِيق عَلِيٍّ، عَنْ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ فِي قَوْلِهِ: وَجَعَلْنَا بَيْنَهُمْ مَوْبِقًا يَقُولُ: مهلكًا «٥» .
١٢٨٥٦ - عَنْ أَنَسٍ فِي قَوْلِهِ: وَجَعَلْنَا بَيْنَهُمْ مَوْبِقًا قَالَ: واد في جهنم مِنْ قيح ودم.
