His saying: "A servant from among Our servants."
12879 - From Abu Hurayrah, may Allah be pleased with him, from the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, who said: "He was only named Al-Khidr because he sat on a white patch of earth, and it shook with green verdure behind him."
His saying: "And there was under it a treasure for them both."
12880 - From Abu Dharr, attributing it to the Prophet, he said: "The treasure which Allah mentioned in His Book was a tablet of gold, inscribed: I am amazed at one who is certain of the Decree and yet exerts himself, and I am amazed at one who remembers the Fire and yet laughs, and I am amazed at one who remembers death and yet remains heedless. There is no god but Allah... Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah."
12881 - From Ibn Abbas regarding "And there was under it a treasure for them both," he said: "It was not gold or silver; it was pages [scrolls] upon which were written..."
His saying: "And his father was a righteous man."
From Sa'id ibn Jubayr regarding His saying: "And his father was a righteous man," he said: "He used to render trusts and deposits to their rightful owners."
12882 - From Ibn Abbas regarding His saying: "And his father was a righteous man," he said: "Righteousness was preserved for their father, and nothing was mentioned about them except their righteousness."
12883 - From Ibn Abbas, he said: "Indeed, Allah makes righteous the children and grandchildren of a righteous man, and He protects him in his offspring and the small dwellings around him, so they remain in a state of protection and well-being from Allah."
His saying: "I will not give up until I reach the junction of the two seas."
12884 - From Ibn Zayd regarding His saying: "I will not give up until I reach the junction of the two seas," he said: "Until I arrive."
12885 - From Qatadah regarding His saying: "The junction of the two seas," he said: "The sea of Persia and Byzantium [the Mediterranean]; they are the sea of the East and the West."
12886 - From Ubayy ibn Ka'b regarding His saying: "The junction of the two seas," he said: "Ifriqiya [North Africa]."

قوله: عَبْدًا مِنْ عِبَادِنَا
١٢٨٧٩ - عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ:
«إنما سمي الخضر، لأنه جلس عَلَى فروة بيضاء، فإذا هي تهتز من خلفه خضراء» «١»
قوله: وَكَانَ تَحْتَهُ كَنْزٌ لَهُمَا
١٢٨٨٠ - عَنْ أَبِي ذر رفعه قَالَ: إِنَّ الكنز الّذِي ذكره الله في كتابه لوح مِنْ ذهب مضمن، عجبت لمن أيقن بالقدر ثُمَّ نصب، وعجبت لمن ذكر النَّار ثُمَّ ضحك، وعجبت لمن ذكر الموت ثُمَّ غفل. لَا إِلَهَ إِلا اللَّهُ.... مُحَمَّد رَسُول اللَّهِ «٢» .
١٢٨٨١ - عَنْ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ وَكَانَ تَحْتَهُ كَنْزٌ لَهُمَا قَالَ: مَا كَانَ ذهبًا ولا فضة، كَانَ صحفاً عليها «٣» .
قوله: وَكَانَ أَبُوهُمَا صَالِحًا
عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ فِي قَوْلِهِ: وَكَانَ أَبُوهُمَا صَالِحًا قَالَ: كَانَ يؤدي الأمانات والودائع إِلَى أهلها «٤» .
١٢٨٨٢ - عَنْ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ فِي قَوْلِهِ: وَكَانَ أَبُوهُمَا صَالِحًا قَالَ: حفظ الصلاح لأبيهما وما ذكر عنهما صلاحًا «٥» .
١٢٨٨٣ - عَنْ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ: إِنَّ الله يصلح بصلاح الرجل ولده وولد ولده ويحفظه في ذريته والدويرات حوله، فَمَا يزالون في ستر مِنَ الله وعافية «٦» .
قوله: لا أَبْرَحُ حَتَّى أَبْلُغَ مَجْمَعَ الْبَحْرَيْنِ
١٢٨٨٤ - عَنِ ابْنِ زَيْدٍ فِي
قوله: لا أَبْرَحُ حتى أبلغ مجمع البحرين قَالَ:
حتى أنتهي «٧» .
١٢٨٨٥ - عَنْ قَتَادَة فِي قَوْلِهِ: مَجْمَعَ الْبَحْرَيْنِ قَالَ: بحر فارس والروم، هما بحر المشرق والمغرب «٨» .
١٢٨٨٦ - عَنْ أَبِي بْنِ كَعْبٍ في قوله: مجمع البحرين قال: أفريقية «٩» .
