Translation · EN

His saying: "They embarked in the ship."

12901 - From al-Suddi regarding His saying: "They embarked in the ship," he said: "It was only a ferry on the water of al-Kur, measuring a parasang by a parasang."

His saying: "Something 'imran (an atrocious thing)."

12902 - From Mujahid regarding His saying: "Something 'imran," he says: "Something detestable (munkaran)."

12903 - From Qatadah regarding His saying: "Something 'imran," he said: "Something amazing (awe-inspiring)."

12904 - From Abu Sakhr regarding His saying: "Something 'imran," he said: "Something grave (great)."

12905 - From Abu al-Aliyah, and through the path of Hammad ibn Zayd, from Shayb ibn al-Hijab, they both said: "Al-Khidr was a servant whom eyes would not see, except for the one whom Allah intended to see him. So, none of the people saw him except Moses. If the people had seen him, they would have intervened between him and the damaging of the ship, and between him and the killing of the boy." Hammad said: "And they used to believe that sudden death was from that."

His saying: "They met a boy."

12906 - From Sa'id ibn Abd al-Aziz regarding His saying: "They met a boy," he said: "He was a boy of twenty years of age."

His saying: "You have killed a pure soul."

12907 - Through the path of Sa'id ibn Jubayr, from Ibn Abbas, that he used to recite: "You have killed a pure (zakiyyah) soul." Sa'id said: "Zakiyyah means Muslim."

12908 - From Sa'id ibn Jubayr regarding His saying: "A pure soul," he said: "He had not yet reached the age of sins."

12909 - From Atiyyah that he used to recite: "Zakiyyah," and he would say: "It is spelled with a ta' (as opposed to a ha')."

His saying: "You have done something nukran (a repulsive thing)."

12910 - From Qatadah regarding His saying: "You have done something nukran," he said: "Al-nukr is more repulsive than 'ajab (amazing)."
