12969 - From Qatadah, he said: "Allah divided humans into ten parts; nine of them are Gog and Magog, and one part is the rest of mankind."
12970 - From Ibn 'Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both), he said: "Gog and Magog are one span and two spans, and the tallest of them is three spans, and they are from the offspring of Adam."

١٢٩٦٩ - عَنْ قَتَادَة قَالَ: إِنَّ الله جزأ الإِنْس عشرة أجزاء، تسعة منهم يأجوج ومأجوج، وجزء سائر الناس «١» .
١٢٩٧٠ - عَنْ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُمَا قَالَ: إِنَّ يأجوج ومأجوج شبر وشبران وأطولهم ثلاثة أشبار وهم مِنْ ولد آدم «٢» .
قوله: مُفْسِدُونَ فِي الأَرْض
١٢٩٧١ - عَنْ حبيب الأرجاني فِي قَوْلِهِ: إِنَّ يَأْجُوجَ وَمَأْجُوجَ مُفْسِدُونَ فِي الأَرْض قَالَ: كَانَ فسادهم أنهم كانوا يأكلون الناس «٣» .
قوله: فَهَلْ نَجْعَلُ لَكَ خَرْجًا
١٢٩٧٢ - عَنْ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُمَا فِي قَوْلِهِ: فَهَلْ نَجْعَلُ لَكَ خَرْجًا قَالَ: أجراً عظيماً «٤» .
قوله: سَدًّا
١٢٩٧٣ - عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ قَالَ: مَا صنع الله فهو السد، وما صنع الناس فهو السد «٥» .
قوله: مَا مَكَّنِّي فِيهِ رَبِّي خَيْرٌ
١٢٩٧٤ - عَنِ السُّدِّيِّ فِي قَوْلِهِ: مَا مَكَّنِّي فِيهِ رَبِّي خَيْرٌ قَالَ: الّذِي أعطاني ربي هُوَ خير مِنَ الّذِي تبذلون لي مِنَ الخراج.
قوله: أَجْعَلْ بَيْنَكُمْ وَبَيْنَهُمْ رَدْمًا
١٢٩٧٥ - عَنْ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ فِي قَوْلِهِ: أَجْعَلْ بَيْنَكُمْ وَبَيْنَهُمْ رَدْمًا قَالَ: هو كأشد الحجاب «٦» .
