13008 - From Mujahid, he said: Firdaws is a garden in the Roman (Byzantine) language.
13009 - From al-Suddi, he said: Firdaws is the vineyard in the Nabataean language, and its origin is firdasa.
His saying: "They will wish for no change from it."
13010 - From Mujahid regarding His saying: "They will wish for no change from it," he said: A substitution.
His saying: "Say, if the sea were ink for the words of my Lord."
13011 - From Mujahid regarding His saying: "Say, if the sea were ink for the words of my Lord," he says: The knowledge of my Lord.
13012 - From Qatadah regarding His saying: "Say, if the sea were ink for the words of my Lord, the sea would be exhausted before the words of my Lord were exhausted," he says: The water of the sea would be exhausted before the speech of Allah and His wisdom are exhausted.
[His saying: So whoever hopes for the meeting with his Lord]
13013 - From Ibn 'Abbas regarding His saying: "So whoever hopes for the meeting with his Lord" [to the end of the] verse, he said: It was revealed concerning the polytheists who worshipped another god alongside Allah; this is not regarding the believers.
13014 - From Tawus, he said: A man said: O Prophet of Allah, I stand in positions seeking the Face of Allah, and I like that my standing be seen. He did not respond to him with anything until this verse was revealed: "So whoever hopes for the meeting with his Lord, let him work righteousness and associate none as a partner in the worship of his Lord."
13015 - From Mujahid, he said: There were some among the Muslims who would fight while desiring that their position be seen, so Allah revealed: "So whoever hopes for the meeting with his Lord" [to the end of the] verse.

١٣٠٠٨ - عَنْ مُجَاهِدٍ قَالَ: الفردوس بستان بالرومية «١» .
١٣٠٠٩ - عَنِ السُّدِّيِّ قَالَ: الفردوس هُوَ الكرم بالنبطية، وأصله فرداساً «٢» .
قوله: لا يَبْغُونَ عَنْهَا حِوَلا
١٣٠١٠ - عَنْ مُجَاهِدٍ فِي قَوْلِهِ: لا يَبْغُونَ عَنْهَا حِوَلا قَالَ: متحولًا «٣» .
قوله: قُلْ لَوْ كَانَ الْبَحْرُ مِدَادًا لِكَلِمَاتِ رَبِّي
١٣٠١١ - عَنْ مُجَاهِدٍ فِي قَوْلِهِ: قُلْ لَوْ كَانَ الْبَحْرُ مِدَادًا لِكَلِمَاتِ رَبِّي يَقُولُ: علم ربي «٤» .
١٣٠١٢ - عَنْ قَتَادَة فِي قَوْلِهِ: قُلْ لَوْ كَانَ الْبَحْرُ مِدَادًا لِكَلِمَاتِ رَبِّي لَنَفِدَ الْبَحْرُ قَبْلَ أَنْ تَنْفَدَ كَلِمَاتُ رَبِّي يَقُولُ: ينفد ماء البحر قبل إِنَّ ينفد كلام الله وحكمته «٥» .
[قوله: فمن كان يرجوا لقاء ربه]
١٣٠١٣ - عن (ابن) عباس في قوله: فَمَنْ كَانَ يرجوا لقاء ربه الآية. قَالَ:
نَزَلَتْ في المشركين الذين عبدوا مع الله إلهًا غيره، وليست هذه في المؤمنين «٦» .
١٣٠١٤ - عَنْ طَاوُسٍ قَالَ: قَالَ رجل: يا نَبِيّ الله، إني أقف مواقف أبتغي وجه الله، وأحب إِنَّ يرى موطني. فلم يرد عليه شيئًا حتى نَزَلَتْ هذه الآية فَمَنْ كَانَ يرجوا لِقَاءَ رَبِّهِ فَلْيَعْمَلْ عَمَلا صَالِحًا وَلا يُشْرِكْ بِعِبَادَةِ رَبِّهِ أَحَدًا «٧» .
١٣٠١٥ - عَنْ مُجَاهِدٍ قَالَ: كَانَ مِنَ المسلمين مِنْ يقاتل وهو يحب إِنَّ يرى مكانه فأنزل الله فمن كان يرجوا لقاء ربه الآية.
