[His saying: Kaf-Ha-Ya-'Ayn-Sad]

13022 - From Ibn Abbas regarding His saying: "Kaf-Ha-Ya-'Ayn-Sad," he said: The Almighty (Kabir), the Guide (Hadi), the Trustworthy (Amin), the Honorable (Aziz), the Truthful (Sadiq). In one wording: "Kaf" [standing for] "Kafi" (Sufficient) instead of "Kabir."

13023 - From Ibn Abbas [regarding] "Kaf-Ha-Ya-'Ayn-Sad," he said: "Kaf" from Karim (Generous), "Ha" from Hadi (Guide), "Ya" from Hakim (Wise), "'Ayn" from 'Alim (All-Knowing), and "Sad" from Sadiq (Truthful).

13024 - From Ibn Mas'ud and a group of the Companions: "Kaf-Ha-Ya-'Ayn-Sad" is a broken-letter recitation; the "Kaf" is from al-Malik (the King), the "Ha" is from Allah, the "Ya" and "'Ayn" are from al-'Aziz (the Almighty), and the "Sad" is from al-Musawwir (the Fashioner).

13025 - From Ibn Abbas regarding His saying: "Kaf-Ha-Ya-'Ayn-Sad," [it is] an oath by which Allah swore, and it is among the names of Allah.

13026 - From Muhammad ibn Ka'b regarding His saying: "Kaf-Ha-Ya-'Ayn-Sad," he said: The "Kaf" is from al-Malik, the "Ha" is from Allah, the "'Ayn" is from al-'Aziz, and the "Sad" is from al-Samad (the Eternal Refuge).

13027 - From al-Rabi' ibn Anas regarding His saying: "Kaf-Ha-Ya-'Ayn-Sad," he said: O You who grants refuge and against whom no refuge is granted.

His saying: "A mention of the mercy of your Lord to His servant Zechariah."

13028 - From Yahya ibn Ya'mur that he used to recite: "Dhikru rahmati rabbika 'abdahu Zakariyya" (The mention of the mercy of your Lord to His servant Zechariah) [with grammatical adjustment], saying: When Zechariah entered the sanctuary to her, he found with her winter fruit in summer, and summer fruit in winter. He said: "A mention of the mercy of your Lord."

His saying: "When he called his Lord with a quiet call."

13029 - From Qatadah regarding His saying: "When he called his Lord with a quiet call," meaning: within his heart, secretly. He said:
